You might consider getting a membership to at least one airline lounge: wine & beer are typical free and the restrooms are at least better than those in the terminal. There's a higher quality of eye-candy too. What's not to like?

It reminds me of how when I was a kid I would mock my grandfather when he listened to his Big Band music from the 30's and 40's. it was not until my late 20s or so that I realized how good Big Band music sounds. The thing with the anti-Beatles stuff is likely also generational. People who denounce the Beatles in order to fit in may one day grow to appreciate their music like I grew to enjoy Glenn Miller.
