They look like foot steps... They don't seem terribly offensive since the shape really is like a foot.
I suppose if they were like big, fat, bulky kotex pads I would think differently.

I too am offended at the sight of these!

If I wanted to see a bunch of "mouse pillows" on display, I'd go to - um, go to, er - my nearest grocery/convenience/drugstore and walk down the "feminine hygiene" aisle, which is only place where such affronts to my delicate sensibilities should be properly confined!

Wait a minute. Perhaps it's because my exposure to vaginas ended at birth, but it seems to me that a thong panty liner probably wouldn't do a good job of keeping pants clean, particularly on heavy flow days.

I asked some people on the street what they thought the art was today when I was covering this "controversy" and one really amazing guy said, "They look like chicken wings to me!" When I told him they were panty liners he said, "I don't know about that chicken wing thing I just said." Brilliant!

I like thongs. I like thong panty-liners. I find both to be comfortable and useful in the right moments. Women who say they aren't comfortable must have a different type of tush than I do.

But yes... not for heavy flow days.

People really can be shocked by anything, can't they? I could understand the outrage if these were used panty liners, because that would be a health problem. But new ones... c'mon, people, they're just cotton pads with tape on the back. What's the big deal?

A project that uses art to distract from empty downtown storefronts has proved a little too distracting. Colorado Springs' Downtown Partnership started the "Visually Aesthetic Spaces" program in September. It fills empty shop windows with works by local artists. But one piece, called "Freedom," by Jocelyn Nevel was only up for 9 days before the building's owner asked that it be removed. Noel Black and Kate Dawson report.

the funny thing about the thong pantyliners come to find out is my two friends were downtown outside the sub shop arguing about what they were, my one friend's argument being "they must be little subs, I mean it's a sub shop for chris'sake" and my other friend saying "no honey, they are pantiliners", you can imagine the rest. apparently it's still up.

it also cracks me up that Colorado Srings is all about trying to change their image to the rest of the nation, hence our big "diversity fair" Downtown, and yet we get national publicity about somebody wanting pantiliners removed from a shop window. yeah, they're fucked until they blow up Focus on the Family.
