Cryptic Democrat for Obama

posted by on October 25 at 17:04 PM

At Monday night’s Hillary thing, I was talking to a local Democratic operative who has a proven track record of smart, successful campaigning. This person is a Barack Obama fan, and I told them I thought Obama was fading a bit.

Smiling confidently, this smart Democrat said to me: “That’s what you’re supposed to think. Somebody’s doing their job right.”

That is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Today.

Might want to check out what was being said about Kerry 4 years ago...

Nah, just believe the MSM pro-Clinton stuff - don't use your brains.

Hmm..."a local Democratic operative who has a proven track record of smart, successful campaigning." Sounds a lot like Christian Sinderman to me.

Of course, that's exactly what I'd expect an Obama fan to say.

I would have to be using Will in Seattle's brain to think that quote is the least bit intelligent. Of course I'd have to go to dictionary.com to understand a few of the words. Like 'right' and 'think'.

Jeez, that is 3rd rate amateur hack spin. Even Carville would shake his head in bewilderment.

When did campaign coordinators become the masters of the universe?

Well it makes sense if Obama wanted to lower the insanely stratospheric expectations that people have of him. With Hillary people know what they are getting but people have been projecting onto Barrack whatever they wanted.

When he gets down to 10%, he'll *really* be prepared to strike!

We still have a year of campaigning; maybe he doesn't want to peak too soon.

@14 - I think Obama peaked about three months ago.

@2 - I don't think there are any October Surprises against Hillary. She's been one of the most public personalities in the world for the past 15 years or so. After all the muckraking during Bill's presidency, it's hard to imagine anything was saved for later.

@15: Good point. I think all her dirt's out in the open already. Makes it kind of hard for Republicans to find new ways to try and discredit her.

Reminds me of what a smart Democrat operative said when I asked him about Richardson's chances. "No way, he's a womanizer." And then there was one...it's Hill, Will.

Jeez have you been paying any attn to the anti-gay singer issue. He's already lost many of us in the last 12 hours. This sounds like my dad who assures me Bush is 5 steps ahead of everyone. Yeah, or he's retarded.

Well, Mr. Poe, we all know the radical right are not in their right minds - literally. Scientific studies have shown that.

That said, the MSM obsession with both Clinton and Guilani is pretty sick.

I'm now firmly in the Edwards camp. I will not vote for Hill even if she gets the nom for how her hubby tossed us under the bus last time, fool me once...I love Mrs. Edwards and believe her husband doesn't really have anything against gays and could easlily support us. I now think Obama is lying about his support of gay issues. No-one is sadder than me, maybe that's why I'm so very pissed at him. I REALLY liked the guy. Now if Hill ends up being our nom I may look into Paul. If he's too wrong on my issues I'll sit this one out.
