I'm not sure that the only defect in that way of thinking was that they aimed at the wrong country. Or carried out the war incompetently.

The neocons had an overall failure: misunderstanding what the problem actually is, foolishly invading Iraq, occupying it disastrously, and imagining there is a giant bugaboo they named "Islamo-Fascism." If you are a believer in this bugaboo, then the invasion of Iraq is a fairly logical conclusion to arrive at.

Or to put it another way: if you believe that such a thing as "Islamo-Fascism" exists, and that we can wage war against it, then you're approximately as smart as a College Republican.

Yawn. Typical- "I don't like what you are saying therefore you are (fill inn the blank)". There are many european Muslims- Islam is not a race. While I don't agree with 99% of what Republican groups promote nor do I think this event offers fact rather than propoganda they still have every right to voice their opinion. When events are labeled racist 99% of the time its jsut a way for people to try and censor what they don't want to hear. I say tough shit. I've had to listen to enough bullshit in my day from many college groups that made my blood boil, why do some people think they shouldn't also?

Dan Savage was one of the first writers to use Islamo-Fascism in print that's why I love Dan Savage so much. You see in Islam it is forbidden to object to or critisize a fellow muslim-no matter what,especially to an infidel such as you or I. They are "gradualists" who actually desire an eventual Caliphate based on Sharia law-they just arent being violent about it. However, they do support their more violent and committed brothers. Death, deceit, and oppression are indeed the fruits of pure islam. Dilute Islam such as in America is only temporary.
