"As you persecute homosexuals, dear Uganga..."
Who's "Uganga"?
that's what i'd like to know.
Adrian, their *real* argument is stupid enough without your intentionally misrepresenting it. They're not saying grave robbing is the fault of homosexuals, and you know it.
Their argument is: the west tries to tell Uganda what's right and wrong with regards to homosexuality, and defends homosexuals by offering them refuge. They argue that this is western cultural imperialism. To illustrate the point, they offer the absurd idea of the west offering support and refuge to grave robbers.
It's stupid because we have every right to attempt to influence other countries to, oh I dunno, let women vote, stop FGM, eradicate poppy production, allow free elections, and all sorts of other things that we think are important. Just because our country is militarily and economically powerful doesn't mean we can't hold and advance moral arguments and actions.
Still, I wonder what Charles Mudede would say.
This post is less coherent than the Ugandan editorial cited...
...And these are the same dumbasses that are taking over the Anglican church. Isn't it interesting how bigots will let their homophobia trump their racism when it comes to their flavor of fairy tale?
