Ok then...

Anyway, I thought it was funny how the Times article started by emphasizing that the shooting was believed to not have been related to the nightclub but then still started in about the the mayor's nightclub ordinance fetish as if a shooting that supposedly didn't have anything to do with a nightclub had something to do with the nightclub hullabaloo.

Silly peoples.

thank you #1.

I am putting a proposition forth:

A RESOLUTION submitting a proposition to the qualified electors of the city, at an election to be held right now; calling for a statement to be submitted to the citizens of Seattle and it's surrounding 'burbs to STOP FUCKING SHOOTING EACH OTHER.

Yes...........
No............

I blame The Ducks.

Clearly the shooter was incensed over being so close to that giant inflatable duck on the roof of their building, which is adjacent to Level 5, and he "went a little funny in the head", meaning to shoot it full of holes, but unfortunately, his aim was a little off-the-mark.

The common denominator in every bar shooting I've read about in the past few years is parking lots. They always go out to their cars in the parking lot and get a gun. The solution is obvious. Get rid of parking lots, or license them in such a way as to make them cost prohibitive to operate. It would curb drunk driving. It would curb shootings and other closing time incidents of violence. It would promote clubs with closer ties to their immediate community. It would provide more tip income to coat check attendants, and it would drive 24 hour drive through fat food purveyors out of business.

Shootings like this wouldn't happen if there were a 10pm curfew for straight people.

From the times:

In July, a brawl involving 100 people spilled out of the Level 5 club and into the street.

WTF! Why are straight people so fucked up. 100 people involved in a brawl?

Curfew for straights.

What a great idea.
UWMatthew, why don't YOU run for Della's council position?

We could have all kinds of fun making up the "Not Straight" test.

You will note, however, that they spilled out of the nightclub, but where not in the nightclub. And therefor, in keeping with the idea that such violence in only tangentially related (if at all) tho the club (since they where not IN the club...), I would like to ask how any of this is Level 5's problem?

You also need to parse police reports very carefully.

"100 people involved in a brawl in a parking lot" probably means four people fighting, and 96 people going to their cars, who may or may not have witnessed it....

I specifically read 100 people involved in a brawl. If it is different witnesses need to come forward and say the SPD is blowing it up. If this is the case then there are some serious issues happening around certain nightclubs. Punising clubs for calling the police is not the answer but it sounds like something needs to be done. Later drinking hours, banning hip-hop, or a major attitude adjustment for a FEW fucked up minded bad apples is in order.

This club is a blight, people. It's as simple as that. It should have its liquor permit pulled and be shut down. It is a business that regularly spawns violence and the owner should not be allowed to continue operating. Anyone who thinks otherwise has his head up his ass.

Yes, yes, Bill. Also, any bank that lets itself get robbed should be shut down. Banks are magnets for armed criminals and we shouldn't let them spawn violence and risk the safety of people on the street.

Anyone who thinks otherwise has his head up his ass.

are they still having the gay T-Dance on Sundays? Cause if they are let me just say that the idea of "integrating" straights with the gays is making this fag scared shitless.

@16.
Here, let me help you pull your head out. I am referring to this one club, not all clubs. "This club is a blight" was what I said. And it is.
And the bank comment? You're kidding, right? You're comparing a bank being robbed to a club that invites this activity. Have you been to this club in the evening? Do you know what you're talking about? I do.
