This guy was so fucked up and desperate that he would go to such awful lengths -- ugh, I just can't imagine how miserable he must've been before this happened; and how much more miserable he must be now.

I guess this ended the best way it could, with him prevented from fucking up any MORE lives. But his awful damage makes me feel bad for him in some terrible way.

I suspect it has more to do with a complete LACK of the ability to care about another human being. Love is about giving as well as receiving. If he was willing to make some little girl's nightmare come true to get whatever twisted satisfaction he needed for himself, that's not love.

Now, if he'd been abused as a child, I could feel sorry for that past child. But feel sorry for the man he has become? Nope, I just don't have that in me.

What about the perverts who do have daughters? I never thought I would know anyone molested by their own father, but it happened to the sister of a classmate of mine. At his wedding I was surprised to see that his father was sitting in a different pew from the rest of the family. My sister, who was one of his sister's friends, told me the father had been having sex with his daughter from age 8 to 12, stopping only when she began to menstruate. The girl kept it a secret till she was 18; then broke down and told her mother, shortly before the wedding. I have no idea if the father was ever prosecuted, but the daughter was messed up good.
