And Now, the Chris Crocker Nude Pictures “Scandal”

posted by on October 2 at 9:46 AM

Perhaps it was inevitable that an exhibitionist like Chris Crocker would have an exhibitionist past that includes the posting of nude pictures online. Crocker certainly seems to suggest inevitability in a MySpace blog entry he put up last night, writing: “I had a lot of alone time in the last half of my teen years, [I was home schooled] and when you’re young self-discovery..happens.”

The self-discovery to which he is referring, and which prompted last night’s mea culpa, could be found on this blog last week. (But it’s not there anymore. Crocker has been trying to get people to take the pictures down, saying they’re illegal to possess. He called me last night to say: “Everybody’s talking about, ‘Oh I saw Chris Crocker naked.’ It’s nothing to brag about. I’m a minor [in those pictures]. Everyone who’s saving it to computers: It’s child porn.”)

The full MySapce mea culpa, sure to become a document of his generation (or at least of the next 24 hours), includes a public service message and a legal warning:

In regards to my “nudes”..

For days now I have been bombarded with messages about the nude photo scandal. The truth is, I was young and stupid when I took those pictures…

I did in fact upload the nudes of myself to the internet when I was 17. Again, I do NOT condone anyone to do this. On the contrary- I encourage everyone to NOT upload nudes of themselves.

I obviously did this behind my parents backs and I am truly embarressed for myself and my family at this time, but I just wanted to clear the air and let anyone and everyone know, that has saved these pictures that it is illegal seeing as though I was 17 at the time, so when you brag that you “saw Chris Crocker naked!!!”..what you’re really bragging that you saw a 17 year old me naked.

Again, I do not condone or stand by my actions at 17, nor anyone else who is underage exploring themselves in this way.

When he called me, Crocker admitted that at this point he’s probably not going to be able make the nudes disappear. “It’s obviously not like I can zap it from the internet,” he told me. But, he added: “It’s just not something I want out there… I just don’t want people to be under the impression that it’s me as an adult when it’s not.” Still, he seemed somewhat resigned to the pictures being viewed online. “If they want to stare at a 17-year-old cock all day, that’s their damage.”

You're actually linking to the pictures in question? wth? Is that not a federal offense?

Lesson learned.

Chris, you'll be happy to know that I will not be downloading, sharing, or even viewing your naked boy pictures.

Moving on...

It feels like it has been a day or two since the last Crocker update. I was worried that something may have happened to you, Eli. Great job getting to the bottom of this! Excellent journalism! How does Britney Spears feel about these pics?

Good thing digital cams didn't get invented until I was 18. Given my nature, there would have been a whole lot of underage pics of me floating around, instead of just pics of me as a young adult.

Nobody is staring at naked pictures of you all day, Chris. Trust me. Most people think you're ugly as fuck.

I doubt he was 17. I think it's convenient for him to say he was underage in the hopes of getting most of them officially removed. I don't know what 'image' he's trying to salvage.

What does Britney think of Crocker? And how 'bout them kids! HA!

Wow. So I'm to understand Chris Cocker was always a mess?

I'm shocked, shocked I tells ya.

I'm not too old to have made an utter ass of myself once upon a time, but I was born too soon to have the evidence posted on a website. Thank Goodness.

It's inevitable that young people will do dumb shit as part of their growing up. The internet adds a whole new level of horror to youthful indiscretion. I hope that some generation of teachers finds a way to incorporate wise internet protocol into a high school curriculum. For the future of someone like CC, it's almost as important as the Birds and the Bees.

I do dumb shit all the time, and I'm almost 40 yrs old!
For one, I read Slog, and two, I called up Jonah thinking he was going to honour his DEAL statement for our moviemaking. Now, my confirmation not to trust ANYTHING he writes is sealed. Just waiting for a response from Josh to prove he's full of shit on nearly every sentiment he makes. But I guess anything is allowed in his gossipy twist of news reporting. Ready to go one-on-one Josh? Win by two.

@12

Who are you and why are you always talking about how you know everybody and what you've been doing in the last few days? Nobody cares.

I do not care about this but to say one thing: If you are dumb enough (at any age) to post naked pictures of you in the internet then you deserve everything you have coming to you. Sorry, but that is called responsibility. (and sorry you need to lean that BEFORE you are 18)

Do not want people staring at your dick on the internet all day? Solution: DON'T POST THE FUCKING PICTURES IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! And I bet even a 13 year old can figure that out.

@13
Who I am?

It's not important.

Why do I talk about what I do and who I know?

I thought that's what Stranger writers do, my life is just as important as theirs. No?

Nobody cares.

I agree fully, to an extent, although I'm mostly interested in the 1% of readers that might care.

illegal? probably not. i haven't seen the pix in question, have zero desire to do so, and took a while to realize who Chris Crocker was (please refer to him as "that whiny little leave-britney-alone bitch" for those of us who don't care.) But unless he-she's all nasty and boner-holdin' or self-fellatin', I don't think the pictures themself would be all that illegal.

I dunno. is any 17 year old boy, of any persuasion, capable of "tasteful" nude photos? of ones self? ick.

It's a bit late for him to have regrets about his penis. It should have remained unused in his pocket.

I'm liking June Bee. She's much more entertaining than most of you regulars. We did well when we traded her for Ecce. I hope that movie deal comes through soon. Perhaps if she posted some nude photos of herself?

Of course he says they were from when he was under 18. That's really the easiest way to get people to get rid of the pix - to convince them that by keeping them, they're doing something illegal. There's no way of telling from those pictures, either.

And sorry, but I think you'll find an awful lot of people are able to figure out by the age of 17 that posting nude pictures of yourself - with your FACE included - online is just a really stupid idea.

The DEAL was that Jonah film How Was It vid at this Food Bank down on Rainier if I were to wear 48 inch waist pants. I should have expected the pansy to go back on his word.

Gurldoggie, you can go down on my f-stop anytime, with proper courting of course; you are a bitch, right?

this is a lie, the kid is 20 years old, he has posted nude photos of himself even within the last year. he has since removed them all, but here is a link to the comments so you can see all of the revulsion.

CC is obviously an exhibitionist. So it is no surprise he snapped some nekkie photos of himself before he turned 18. And he's just enough of an airhead to actually post them online somewhere. And now he's growing up a bit, and naturally regrets both actions.

This probably happens to a hundred kids his age every day. He's just the most high profile one recently. If digi cams and the internet had been around 30 years earlier, I might very well have done the same thing.

The photos were relatively benign, for nudes. While regrettable, I doubt they will ruin his life.

Move on.
