A Time To Panic

posted by on October 2 at 13:00 PM

This piece of news will certainly be the cause of my next panic attack:

CHICAGO — The rapid pulse and shortness of breath of a panic attack can feel like a heart attack, and it may signal heart trouble down the road, a study of more than 3,000 older women suggests.

Women who reported at least one full-blown panic attack during a six-month period were three times more likely to have a heart attack or stroke over the next five years than women who didn’t report a panic attack.

Oh, come on, it's not like heart attacks and strokes are the number one and two highest risk factors for women ...

Is a panic attack the same thing as an anxiety attack? What happens exactly? I'm too mellow to know.

I thought the title was referring to something important, like Saturday’s WP show at the Paramount.

ahh! totally!

back when i was having meelions of them, one of my favorite(?) things to ponder during a panic attack was the link researchers found between panic attacks and some sort of heart murmur (i have no idea where i read that), especially since considering heart problems was one of the things that always triggered me before i knew what was happening. Oh, the god damned irony.
