Heh, this is awesome. Now I need to know where the video is.

Have you had your Public Intern try to pull down the viaduct yet? Maybe he could do it in heels....

Moe is awesome. The last intern she had she publicly humiliated him for some letter he wrote. You gotta be nuts to intern with them gals.

Thanks Erica. A not-so-interesting waste of time. I really wish that you would write about art more than the other poseurs here. A performance video of getting a full bikini wax yourself is really what i need.

You sadistic people have issues ...

on that note have you figure out where to put the IUD and/or diaphram yet?

:( that video was really, really disappointing. We were promised sack and crack and all we got was the kid's (cute) face talking about how he doesn't like pussy that's too hairy.

FRANKLY FOLKS AT THE STRANGER -- Some of the stuff you are suggesting is flat out illegal in the workplace.

Under no circumstance can an employee be asked to expose private parts, do a video, etc.

Someone is going to set you all up for a big time payoff ...

Even at the Stanger all the extreme sexualization in the workplace is illegal - surprised Heck is risking his equity for all this middle school stuff.

Oh well.

By the way Erica, most straight men, younger and good looking, I know get ticked because they don't get much play in the bars. Ego tears. They will get more by tapping somewhere.

If you are a male and want dicy unwanted attention? There are plenty of places to find urban cougers. The public pools in some upper lower class neighborhoods, and the dive bars .... enjoy! Make you feel like a piece of meat so damn quickly.

OR when the bar next door has a male stripper special extravangza night and all the women roll next door when it's over ....

My buddies and I had to roll out with a quickness!

So Erica...are you proud to be a woman or so ashamed you wish men to go through your pain too? Either way...you are missing the point.

Seriously, why not give a female intern a great shot at becoming a journalist instead of demeaning a male to exorcise your own apparent pain?

@8

Most guys I know met their respective partners through their friends ... which in my honest opinion just creates more drama. There is nothing like having the serenity of your friends violated by inbreeding, and then dividing up the friends when the relationship goes down in flames. The bars are a hard sell, but I'll admit it's a GOOD thing when your friend and your girlfriends friends aren't the same people. Less stress.

I don't think that having men feel like being a woman is constant punishment actually creates any empathy. What a bullshitty story. Don't you think enlightening men to things that women do to contribute to society is effective? Waxing your butthole doesn't count! That you take delight in this sheds a lot of light on what a lame feminist you are.

13: I'm rolling my eyes at you. I don't feel the need to explain why, just know that I think you're missing the point—and the humor—entirely.

@16

How many transgenders/transvestites ... or even straight men wax their balls?

more than we want to think? and probably more than they will admit to it.

Jesus people, where's your sense of humor? Not everything is an "issue" with a right or wrong point of view.

@14: I don't think I miss humor at all. I think it's funny that anyone would find that guffaw-worthy. It's a tired notion that has been used in more movies than I can count. (See "What Women Want", for example.)

Uh huh. Feminism Lite, I guess.

I didn't realize regular bikini waxing was mandated for women by law. I'm a guy and shave pits/groin area regularly out of personal preference. Do I thus get carte blanche to prefer the shaved look?

I could go on about the ways in which this fails, but ... eh.

#17 - have you been in a locker room lately? many men. many, many men. WAY more than you might think, although i suspect most of them either shave or use some sort of hair removal cream.

#13 i think the goal here is not to create empathy - why should men be expected to empathize with things women choose to put themselves through? [exception: the unwanted-attention-at-the-bar thing] - more like it just makes for funny watchin'.

Maybe it is just for yucks.

The chest hair waxing scene in 40 year old virgin was priceless!

Yet ... oh wait, it's been done!

So, menstruation is somehow imposed on women by men? How did we do that?

Posted by J.R. | September 19, 2007 2:44 PM

At least that intern that has to simulate menstruation will also learn how to work all of those excuses about it too! Wouldn't it be great to be able to get away with every foul mood in the world with that time honored excuse "It's that time of the month".

What's wax? What are balls? And what is the connection? I must have missed something...

Yeah, boy, this is hilarious.

Not.

It's like Jackass meets He's a Lady.

And of course, any kind of humor -- racist, sexist or whatever -- is appropriate if Erica can recognize and endorse the irony.

women put themselves through that shit ON THEIR OWN VOLITION.

guys may like bald pussy, but we didn't require it for the millions of years prior to 2000. pussy in & of itself is more important than bald pussy.

don't like shaving your pits? don't fucking do it. if your BF tells you to do it, tell him to eat shit & do what you want.

@8,

Under no circumstance can an employee be asked to expose private parts, do a video, etc.

Oh really? In that case, the government better shut down strip clubs and porn operations immediately. It's illegal to ask those employees to take off their clothes or do a video.

@10, @13, @19, @20, and @23,

You do realize that it's Jezebel.com, not ECB, that's doing this. In case you're unfamiliar with the site, this stuff is par for the course for Jezebel and is used entirely for entertainment value, not to exorcise anyone's pain.

Fucking humorless morons.

#20: Before I discovered waxing, I didn't own or wear a bathing suit for 10 years and thus didn't go to the beach, hot tub parties, or anywhere near a pool. No joke.

@27

I'll just blunt ... I love the internet.

Oral sex becomes more of a chore than fun when you have to go fight through the garden. It apparently goes both ways as I've learned from my first gf. You don't necessarily need to wax it all away ... but I'm just saying. Maybe oral sex is more in vogue because of better hygene practices?

Besides skin looks cleaner, sleeker ... women are becoming less of a fan of body hair on men.

Like I said, I'm just saying ... I knew a guy who shaved his arm hair! I am reluctantly more admired when I didn't have chest hair.

@31: yes, you are correct regarding cunnilingus.

but as far as feeling joy at making men suffer as they choose to suffer? that's schadenfreude, and its not cool.

i graduated HS in in 1981. sure i like bald pussy. but i have fought, & i would fight, through thickets of pubic hair rather than not go there at all.

hows that for dedication, ladies?

I shave my head twice a week, and my face at least five times a week - does that qualify me for an intern position at Jezabel?

sending a hot straight guy to a gay bar to show him how awesome unwanted attention is

Indeed, every straight guy should have this experience. Back in the day, a couple of gay friends took me on a field trip to the Eagle. Man was that wild! Lots of intense staring. One guy put his thigh between my legs and started rubbing my crotch. Another time at R Place, a guy stood facing me as I was at the urinal and struck up a conversation, all the while staring at my cock.

Definitely learned a lesson: GOD DAMN, I WISH I WAS GAY!

@32

Actually with felatio too. My gf didn't appreciate the long hairs that crept up the side of my ...

well you get the idea. so you learn to trim them back.

As for @27 ... I guess the same arguments can be said for men. The stuff that we think makes us attractive women couldn't give a damn about.

Posted by OR Matt | September 19, 2007 4:25 PM
37

As for what it feels like for a girl? I'm more interested in what a girl orgasm feels like. They seem to have a hell of a lot more fun with it, obviously more intense ... and can do it again and again .... (but then I guess some women don't know that one either ... )

ohhh no it's not; not to the poor pube and/or ball & butthairs so senselessly ripped from their natural lodgings, all for some "smoothies" aesthetics, think of the hairs, you monsters!!!
