War on Children

posted by on September 20 at 12:33 PM

How I hate the president:

WASHINGTON (CNN) — President Bush on Thursday vowed to veto a reported deal in Congress to expand a children’s health-care insurance program, accusing Democrats of wanting to send him the legislation to score “political points in Washington.”
There is no moral bottom to this man, this symbol of “compassionate conservatism.”

Compassionate conservative = Compassionate rapist

No Child Left Behind II = The Rapture

Healthy Forests Initiative = No Tree Left Behind

David Cross nailed it when he said the only evil thing Bush could do that would actually shock us at this point is kill a Jewish baby and eat its heart.

But of course Bush could only imagine funding a program designed to give uninsured children better health care as "trying to score political points." How else would a man like him be able to see it?

He brings douche-baggery to heretofore unscaled heights.

But, in all fairness, the kids do deserve to die for not voting for him.

He does whatever the fuck he wants. When he wants. When he's forced to do/say something in which leads to abruptly doing/saying what he actually wants. How he wants. Regardless of what anybody lingering outside of his 31% thinks. What's new. Note: No question mark.

Poe- flip, apolitical. Others- Agreed, of course. "This above all: to thine own self be true..." Guess no one here, even Bush, is violating that Shakespearean edict.

@7

I see I'm still 'too flip' and 'apolitical' for you, but you should probably back that up at some point with some solid evidence outside of my random merry Slog comments--which you cannot--before you continue singling me out with this narcissistic bullshit.

I have yet to see you say anything here on Slog representing a political IQ above 50 or some dirty subjective bucket of scrutiny. Moron.

My dear Poe, being flip and apolitical are good things, in certain social circles. You could take those as comments, but no. You call me a moron, which isn't good under any circumstance. Impolite, sir. I shall add that to my list of adjectives for you.

"score political points" what that it looks good for the democrats? is that the entirety of his reason for vetoing this. his advisers can't figure out a better sounding reason to fuck with children than it makes our enemies look good

Poe- fo' shizzle. But seriously, when your Slog posts are almost all making light of dark subjects or telling people you're tired of hearing about political shit, flip and apolitical are fair adjectives. Aren't they?
Yeah, I get my political news from the Stranger and the Daily Show / Colbert Report, so I'm sure my political IQ ain't giant, but you haven't shown yourself to be anything other than a devil-may-care queen, hereabouts. Did I miss the post you made where you actually had an opinion about anything that wasn't a joke?

You've missed many. Regardless, anybody receiving their political 411 from the Stranger and the Daily Show/Colbert (exclusively) has absolutely no business telling anybody that they are 'too flip' and 'apolitical'. In fact, the fact that you just admitted said sources pretty much places me in the right here.

Where, outside of Mike Jones or Larry Craig, have I said I'm tired of hearing about 'political shit'? Not even in general. Post some links. Back up your shit. Bitch.

If you can show me this and I cannot explain, I will honestly apologize for calling you a moron.

Sounds like you're tired of hearing about it to me. Am I wrong? Am I reading too much into "What's new"? Because I've gotten this impression (that you don't give a shit) before.
And no, I'm not wasting my day looking through backlogs of Slog posts for the precious evidence I'm not a moron. You can believe what you want to believe. I could be in MENSA with my brother, but I'm not interested in hanging out with the people who wear their IQs like badges.

Who isn't tired of hearing about Bush's agenda? It's not that we don't want to hear it, it's that hearing it, constantly, is a burden for us. It's a burden because we have to constantly be reminded that we, we as in America, continental US, as a whole, voted this fuckhead into office. Twice.

No, I'm sure you have way too much time on your hands to back up your mouth and your attitude. How unthoughtful of me to think that, for even a second, you had some jizz in your bags to fill up your balls.

I will believe what I want to believe. Moron.

Great, let's take away birth control then force people to have children then make sure those kids have poor to no health care, get rid of school lunches, let public school flounder, make college out of reach for most low income to lower middle class families to afford, and then make sure that guns are readily available (the US bought more than half of all guns manufactured last year) and let's stack the laws and justice system so that it it applied more heavily to the poorer classes and structure finacial systems from revolving credit to pay day loans and create a spiral of poverty drwoning everyone from the upper middle class on down... eventually we'll have our own permanent powerless underclass that we can force to do the work they had been able to get away from paving the way for the illegal immigration boom and before you know it. we'll be able to deport the brown people from somewhere else because we'll have our own serfs- I love this fucking country!!

Meanwhile people keep telling me I have to respect the beliefs of others- even if I fully believe that thier beliefs are the most vile inhumane thing in every way- If I believed in an absolute like evil I would point to these as examples of what it might look like.

I don't want to have to respect the religious wack-a-doo any more than I want to respect the raving lunatic on the street corner- I respect that they are people in need of medication and couseling.

I don't want to respect the difference of opinion of people that want to do things like in my above post (@19) and more than I want to respect the difference of opinion of people like the fictional hannibal lechter- one eats people literally the other figuratively- they both have about the same respect for other people ...

I am forced to walk a balancing line of pride that the United States allows for difference of opinion to be expressed (for a little while longer- until W's coup anyways) with being disgusted that there can be dog eat dog people that hold opinions like this out there...

Is any one else suffering from outrage fatigue?!?

@24- And I liked him too, 'til he started gnawing on my legs like a rabid chihuahua. @22- You got me. And that's why I'm done with that topic. Have at me, Poe. You are officially ignored.
-
@23- Fairly fatigued, but still at it. It's more of a cool outrage now- not fiery like it was in '04. I especially agree with your point about being called on to respect the opinions of utter bastards. The Slog stalwart who gives me that flak the most is Judah. I couldn't disagree with him more. No compromise!

Finally! A war I can get behind! The children must be eradicated (or at least pushed back out of all adult spaces and into the nursery where they belong!)

I hate kids so I could get behind Bush on this one issue.... Fewer kids mean fewer people on the roads (long term) and that makes my commute that much easier!

How dare I attempt to defend myself from respective labels like 'too flip' and 'apolitical' - especially when they're used out of the fuckin' blue.

I guess I keep forgetting that the Stranger is the most in-depth political news source in the country. I seem to keep fucking up DKos with Slog. I should correct that. My tomfoolery will not be tolerated at such a serious, mind-bustin' rag like the Stranger, the first rag in the country to grind out important issues like Chris Crocker and the latest in Pit Bull attacks.*

Have at yourself, you fucking loser. If you had any idea how easy it would actually be to do what I have asked, you'd be 10 points ahead of me.

*Yes, I know, the Stranger, those are the least of your concerns. But you get my point.

Fewer kids = smaller carbon footprint. (Their corpses can also be burnt in place of coal.) A Veto is the only environmentally responsible action to take.

@30- It's true enough. The best thing for the environment is killing people, as long as you don't use too harsh of chemicals in the process...

In the interest of fairness, Bush's charge that the Democrats are grandstanding is pretty well borne out when you consider this quote by John Kerry: "The president['s] political base opposes doing what is decent and humane."

Yes, the Republicans are evil. Thank you, John Kerry, for lowering the level of political discourse toward nursery school.

Posted by Seth | September 20, 2007 3:28 PM

Seth- True that. I mean, the president's political base DOES oppose everything that is decent and humane, except for the small range of acceptable decent and humane things displayed on shows like "Leave it to Beaver" and "the Andy Griffith Show."
But the dems should show at least a little restraint in telling it like it is. The job is called "politician." Sometimes you gotta use a little politesse.

This is the kind of country and political culture you have when an ideology runs its course and hits a wall.

Those ideologies are neoliberalism, deregulation, and Christian conservatism, and boy have they hit some new nadirs in recent years.

Just a speculation. There is no need to respond. But you wouldn't do that, anyway. Right?
