GREAT MOVIE!! Russell Crowe is back in fine form. The guy can convey more emotion and range with the flick of an eyebrown that most actors can in their entire careers. However, this was a situation where the outstanding cast had more value than what was in the stagecoach. Christian Bale (THAT was BATMAN??) was marvelous; the kid who played son William is a fabulous find; Peter Fonda, unrecognizable, was amazing; and the "really bad guy" had the best lines of the entire movie. While I'd desire to see a Western, Russell Crowe drew me in and the flick was well worth the price of admission, popcorn, and even the $6 soda pop.

It's an amazing thing when more than a generation has gone by since the first making of a movie, so "normal" people won't have the comparative experience of the film critics. Go spend the money, be entertained, but be especially awed by good storytellig and fine, fine execution of film making.

I am SO glad this movie is getting so much press. I recently moved to Albuquerque to work in films (a TON of movies are filmed here- however most of them dont get much press) and 3:10 to Yuma is one that was made here last year. From what I've heard, Christian Bale was fun to work with and mesmerizing to watch (apparently he didnt go hide in his trailer like Crowe did, he actually hung out with the crew as did his wife). Crowe on the other hand- as I've heard- was a bit more of a princess however they said he was really "fun" to watch act because he was so "theatrical". (???)

It's really great press for ABQ film makers, I'm thrilled it's made it so far so quickly. Thanks Stranger!
