Tim Burgess and David Della on Issues That Are Not Gay Marriage

posted by on September 7 at 14:28 PM

If you’re interested in Tim Burgess’s position on issues besides gay marriage and his decision to take money from Concerned Women for America, don’t worry—we’ll be continuing to cover the campaign, and we plan to have Burgess and (hopefully) Della in for an endorsement interview with our full editorial board.

In the meantime, here’s an article I wrote when Burgess first got into the race against Della (scroll down to the last few paragraphs); here’s a Slog post Josh wrote about Burgess’s position on police accountability after a debate between Burgess and Della last month; here’s another on the police accountability issue; and here are Burgess and Della’s campaign web sites, where you can get a sense of their views on city issues (and read a press release where Burgess accuses Della of “Karl Rove campaign tactics”).

Tim Burgess is our version of Ken Starr. A religious puritan crusader. Strippergate was his Monica Lewinski scandal, and got his name all over the press. Those parking stalls were the end of all of us, "the darker side of corruption" was his quote in the PI!! He made sure we crucified Judy and Heidi, but of course Compton got a pass.

Can you guys ask Della whether his acceptance of campaign contributions from predatory lenders like MoneyTree "reflects the kind of community he wants," as he says his acceptance of donations from "small contributors" does?

JvA - what a crock, twit wit above

predatory lenders my asshole - you are just a squeeking box for the latest political blah blah.

I own a good business, couple of years ago we got in a bind, needed 10,000. - no aid the very nice G of A bank - no said the credit union.

Went to a preditory lender , wow, oh sure we can get you 12,000- tomorrow - High rate - lots of fees.

Two years later all out of debt, business on track, 200,000.00 in the operating account, NO debt at all..

They saved my business and - sometimes, the rest of you suck.

Oh, whine, whine, we need the nanny state. How can people run their own lives better than Olympia can run them?

BULLSHIT.

By the way, I am a far left, very in the game activist in my spare time.

The SGN is endorsing Della and asking its readers to vote against Burgess. Check it out:

I think both of these candidates suck. Isn't there somebody we can write in? How about Dan Savage? I'm serious. Dan, could you work in a side gig as a Seattle City Council member while still continuing to effectively juggle your sex column and other civic leadership responsibilities. And next time Greg The Pig is up for re-election, voters, can we please do the Lord of the Flies thing on him? He has got to be the worst mayer in the history of Seattle. The latest example is letting his staff hog out all all the vegetation along a stretch of Hamm Creek--much of it native species planted by volunteers. The only thing green about him are his bilious lies about Seattle being a "green city." Sorry. Mud Baby has gotten a little off topic.
