@8 : No, Kirkland isn't some broken-down Detroit slum, but it's not all McMansions and condos either. There's a number of run-down older neighborhoods, especially around the Rose Hill and Forbes Lake area. I can believe that a lot of the old houses there are in pretty bad shape. I'm not a fan of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. I'm not convinced that most of those families are truly in need. (How about building completely new houses for the homeless?) They also don't need to supply lower middle class and poor families with mansions.

However, that woman's house was falling down. Clearly, this isn't an issue of her spending too much money on coffee drinks.
