The Morning News

posted by on September 25 at 7:31 AM

Ahmadinejad in America: Iran has no homosexuals. The Holocaust shouldn’t be treated as fact. “We are friends of the Jews.”

Meanwhile, President Bush had this to say about Ahmadinejad’s speaking gig at Columbia:

“When you really think about it, he’s the head of a state sponsor of terror, he’s—and yet an institution in our country gives him a chance to express his point of view, which really speaks to the freedoms of the country. I’m not sure I’d have offered the same invitation.”

From Marching Monks to economic sanctions in Myanmar.

The Trials of Guantanamo: A newly formed military appeals court has declared the U.S. government can prosecute some of the detainees being held at Guantanamo Bay.

Dept. of Classy Campaigning: Support the candidacy of Rudy Giuliani. All it will cost you is $9.11 per person to attend.

Home Prices: Dropping in a big way—in places other than Seattle, that is.

New Rule: Seattle City Council orders Police Chief Gil Kerlikowske to pick up a pen the next time he overturns a discipline finding.

See You in Court: The City of Seattle of Seattle is suing Sonic owner Clay Bennett.

New Downloader: Amazon has joined the army of companies trying to take down Apple’s iTunes.

Ugh: The opening to this P.I. story will ruin your day:

A Federal Way woman who punished her foster daughter by jabbing hypodermic needles into the girl’s eyes and smashing her feet with 10-pound weights pleaded guilty Monday to assault charges and could face up to 14 years imprisonment.

.24: Jack Bauer possibly drugged by evil terrorists, detained by police while precious seconds are lost.

Bush misses the point that he is also a supporter of State run terrorism: against foriengers and against Americans. Besides, we need to send all the fundie Christians to Iran; I mean no gays must be a utopia for those people.

Lost in all the hubub over Ahmadinejad's Columbia speech was yesterday's Most Important Story: An interview with the Bush family pool boy which revealed that (surprise!) not only does he hate their guts, he's also far more intelligent and articulate than every one of those raving assholes combined. To wit:

"If every American had to pool-boy for these people for a day, you'd have a revolution on your hands," is how he sees things.

"I look at the biggest middle finger in the world all day," is his more succinct explanation.

"What do you say? 'Thanks for School of the Americas, and Iran-Contra, and NAFTA, and shipping all those jobs overseas, and arming Saddam, and funding the Taliban?' What do you say -- 'You're a jerk?' There's nothing that can be put into a sentence that would capture the lives these people have taken, and the way of life that's been taken."

The "genius grants" were also announced this morning. Two Seattle scientists are on the list:

That whole building-bridges-between-nations Ahmadinejad invite sure backfired, didn't it? An Iranian Film Festival would have been a way better idea, let people feel the humanity of the folks Bush wants to bomb for their oil. Also, their president is a dipshit just like ours. So we have that in common, too.

We in the media must tell the goyim -

"America and Israel must attack Iran because of Iran's poor treatment of homosexuals. America has always attacked and invaded other nations that don't allow gays to serve in the military, or allow gay bashing. America is the world police in forcing other nations to promote rights for all gays."

We invaded Iraq to "save the women and children", so there's no reason Israel can't attack Iran to "promote gay rights". Anything to isolate Iran and soften public opinion, especially liberal public opinion will make Israel and America's attack go smoothly.
