The Morning News

posted by on September 14 at 8:45 AM

The Bush Speech: Some troops home later this year, but most stay in Iraq “beyond my presidency.”

The fact check: Bush contradicted himself and recent government reports, and The Washington Post is on the case.

Giuliani: Trying to score points on “Betray Us” flap.

Thompson on Schiavo: No opinion, and doesn’t even remember details of the case.

Newt’s odds: Says the likelihood of a Democrat winning the White House in 2008 are 80-20 in favor.

On the No Surrender Express: A dispatch from McCain’s latest gimmick.

Gentrification: Condos, bistros, cute shops, and pushed-out artists—no, it’s not Capitol Hill. It’s the East Village.

Who’s in that coalition? Debunking Bush’s talk of 36 nations helping in Iraq.

I stopped watching the PA's three years ago. I also stopped caring about my country three years ago.

Re: War is Peace, etc.

What amazes me is that people are seriously analyzing the hurricane of bullshit that has erupted out of DC this week, and the establishment media has again concluded that the Iraq War/Occupation must continue forever instead of dragging Bush and Cheney out of the White House, tarring and feathering them, then running them out of town.

Seems like no one (other than pissed off bloggers) is calling the Democrats out on their lie that they can't end the war by cutting off funding, since I guess the Dems are afraid of what right-wing whackjobs might say that they said.

This is just nuts.

I've never watched the PAs. What's the fucking point? I already know it's nothing but lies and more lies.

@6 - Absolutely. Another dimwit who wants to play the role of President.

I can hear Joe Sixpack now ... "I sure liked him on Law and Order. And he's 6'6!"

I predict he wins the nomination. He seems to have plausible denial down pat, and the rest of the Repug nominees are a train wreck.
