There are a thousand things I could say about Bush right now. But I'm not going to. I'm going to pass it on to the next commenter. Good luck!

what's left to say about bush?

nothing can express the depth of my cynicism regarding the future of america - i expect us to be in iraq at the end of the hillary clinton administration in 2016, when i'll be 53 fucking years old.

Don't blame me, I voted for Limbaugh/Coulter.

Did you hear how Bush figures he'll take in money for giving speeches after he leaves office? What on earth does he have to say about anything that anyone would pay to hear? Even his corporate donors almost certainly only see him as useful, not insightful or interesting.

@4 - Bush has been nothing but "useful" from day 1. That's why Dick, Condi, and Donald recruited him to run for President.

execs still love to show that they can buy the former president. giving speeches for him will be like a dog and pony show. watch the former president jump....

that stranger cover was one of the best images to emerge in the weeks following 9/11. who did it?

9/11 trivia: steinbacher was the first person i talked to that morning. i was super hungover and he really helped calm me the fuck down. thanks, brad.

So, only 30% of Americans think that we're winning the War on Terrah?

Does that mean that 70% of Americans are left-wing, moonbat, commie, America-hating traitors? I guess we hate ourselves for our Freedoms(TM).

One of the little discussed facts about the Iraq War is that the US shut down Iraq's Soviet style manufacturing system which threw some 500,000 people out of work all due to the right-wing belief that capitalism is the only allowable economic system; the unemployment rate is now 50%.

Fortune Magazine has a truly sad article ironically titled "Mission Impossible," about the failure to get the Iraqi people back to work, but what's most haunting is one of the photographs that show an Iraqi man welding while being guarded by at least six US troops.

We are so fucked.

Newsflash: Mourning has a shelf life people. Time to move on! Our grandparents did not do national mourning for December 7 1941 6 years later to the extent we deal with 9-11.

Bitching about the president is tired and played. We know, people, we know. Go find and tell someone who might consider it news.

re; Cato @ 10:
I'm sorry, did we interrupt you? Were you busy and now you can't do what you need to do because people are remembering and mourning the thousands of friends, neighbors, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, cousins, uncles, etc etc that died? Excuse us. How rude.
Tomorrow you'll have plenty of distraction-free time to continue guzzling whatever bag of douche you're working on this week.
There's no statue of limitation on this shit, you fuckwad.

agreed with #7, that joe newton 9/11 cover was one of the best ever the stranger has produced. very powerful, yet perfectly simplistic, great work.

Just last night I was trying to remember what you guys did (it was a Tuesday...had they already gone to press and waited till the next week or...hm)

Glad to see it again. With 7 and 13..it was an incredible cover. I noticed almost everyone was going with tabloid style photographs, so this one really moved me.

Not to take anything away from the brilliance of ex-art director Joe Newton (you can still see his illos weekly in the Savage Love column and his design work in the Rolling Stone magazine), but that cover image was actually created by the equally brilliant Sean Tejaratchi, creator of godhead clipart zine Craphound and loving father of a possum.

That cover is one of the few non-photographic pictures at the time that resonated with me the most, and it still does. Poorly designed or no.
