2008 More Important Than the NRA: Judith

As I posted earlier, the Republican presidential candidates are at a big NRA meeting today. So what does Rudy Giuliani do while he’s giving his speech? He pauses to answer his cell phone:
It’s unclear whether Republican presidential candidate Rudolph W. Giuliani, whose previous positions on gun control are likely to make his presidential candidacy a tougher sell to members of the influential National Rifle Association, scored points or lost a few today when he decided to take a cell phone call from his wife in the middle of a speech to the group.“Hello dear. I’m talking to the members of the N.R.A. right now. Would you like to say hello?” he said, apparently speaking to his wife, Judith. “I’ll give you a call as soon as I’m done. Have a safe trip. Bye bye.”
Though there was some scattered laughter, the audience was mostly quiet as Mr. Giuliani ended the call and added: “This is one of the great blessings of the modern age – to always be available.”

Yeah, don't we all love it when someone stops talking to us to answer their cell phone?
And he's the Repubs' Least Awful Candidate. Sheesh!

but how can this be a ploy to appear family friendly? it is nothing but rude behaviour, and especially so coming from a statesman running for office.

His ex-wife should call him during one of his speeches. That could be more amusing.
Never Forget Guiliani Phone Call
It hit me one day that always being available and accessible can be kind of a bad thing.
After being without one for about 6 months, I have no regrets.
Damn right it was planned. Whichever mistress that was knew damn well he had a meeting to attend and a speech to deliver that night. This man seriously thinks he's too cool for school. Or at least, he's good at the public cockiness act. The fact is that he can't keep a wife, and his kids hate him. Now that I think of it, that cockiness act seems to be all he has, really.
