it's ok, The Stranger is adept at ignoring trends and dangers such as fixies, then when something bad happens *squawk* *squawk* the sky falls down when tragedy occurs.

let's be quiet while the next brew stews, oh let's say $800 a pop, lots of people spend spend spend, then bad occurs, then sniff poofity poof aren't you idiot fools.

I think Mike Albo was referenced a couple of times on Slog... did a show or two at ReBar, as I recall. Looked like my kind of stuff. Sorry I missed it.

point taken @6 though i'm not sure where you're heading, which is fine and appropriate.

On Friday, Re-Bar was about half full - an amazingly low turnout considering the amount of advance p.r. Albo received - both from the P-I and The Stranger. Am sure Mike Albo meant to be funnier than he was (to me), but unless you can comprehend words coming at you at approximately 500 per minute, you're in for some rough sledding. And if you're not on the same page generationally as the PodBudz and the Celphoniacs, you might be better off knocking back two strong Cosmos @ Purr for the same about of bucks. The straight couple in front of me thought Albo was going to be something akin to David Sedaris - but that would be like comparing Ted Koppel to Ken Schramm. I truly wanted to laugh a lot more - but it wasn't there - for me at least. Tant pis... Aware I'm expressing a contrarian opinion to the Stranger on a one-man-show described slightly less glowing than the Second Coming, I expect to be excoriated for not knowing what the fuck I'm talking about. So elucidate. And how big was the Saturday audience?

Should we all observe a moment of noise in honor of Marcel Marceau?

I'm glad the Stranger suggests stupid things for the sheeple to moo toward. Half-Full is good. Gasworks Park was modestly barren and beautiful yesterday for the 4 hr long sunset. Aside from the camera attached to most ADULTS' hips, it was ecstatic light snowrain scrim for early rising moon.

Autumnal Equinox, look out. [STOP]

(i'm) OUT [STOP]

This is the weirdest thread ever. They're doing amazing things with anti-psychotics these days, people. Look into it.

Caught Albo on Friday night. Pretty small crowd, but he went over well from where I was sitting, and we all thought he was hilarious.

About 70 people Saturday, good show, very funny, appreciative audience. The first local appearance of not-well-known-locally performance artist from New York CIty isn't going to pack out houses, hype or no hype. I'm glad there was a nice crowd at the show, and I'm glad I went, and I'm glad we Suggested it. Good on Ian Bell for bringing Albo to town.

I'm pretty sure June Bee is already on anti-psychotics. There are just days when JB doesn't TAKE those anti-psychotics.

That said, I do love your comments, JB. They are nutty. NUTTY.

Seen him Friday night and he was okay. Kinda funny but not the super hysteria I would expect from someone compared to Kathy Griffin. Since I was expecting something akin to the glorious, glamours "Suck this Jesus" Kathy Griffin I was let down....

#11 Once a day I am glad I check Slog - thanks for the idea.

Sitting in a Starbucks I shouted out the idea, about six people joined in chanting viva la mime five or six time.

He was - le mieux. Quel grand artiste.

Allons encore, viva la mime. Viva Marcel Marceau.

Au revoir cher Marcel.

In October 2002 Dan Savage argued that the Iraq war would be good for kids. Oh Yes He Did! Look it up!

From todays Seattle Post intelligencer

FORT LEWIS -- Kaylee Sharp-Henderson had been silent much of the morning, and now she was avoiding, with all her 8-year-old might, directions to write down what made her feel sad. Or angry. Or scared.

Around the table, the other children in her group bent their heads over their construction paper and made furtive lists with colored markers.

When they were finished, Tina Saari, the group leader, handed each child a small tin of Play-Doh.

Kaylee wadded the clay into a ball.

"This is the Iraqi that killed my dad," she said, her voice rising as her fists pummeled the clay into a flat pancake. "I hate you, I hate you. I hate you."

The other children hammered at their own piles of clay, and in a flurry of pounding they smashed out feelings of grief only the smallest casualties of war could know.

I didn't see his show (I wanted to but couldn't make it) but I met him Saturday night at The Eagle. He's nice.

I saw the show on Saturday. He is a funny, intelligent performer with a lot skill. It is not easy to dance that badly, you have to know what you are doing to get it that wrong.

Albo was hilarious. I'm so happy that young Jewish performers like Mike come to our philistine outpost. Yes he talked fast, but so do New Yorkers. You had to be sophisticated and urban to grasp his humor. I loved it.
