Wow. Holy balls.

But, for the most part, the only people who care if God blesses America are the ones running around shouting that he wouldn't because we're all abortionists. There's obviously no way this song is going to convince anyone that doesn't already agree with its sentiment.

But isn't masturbation a sin?

I saw this a week ago. I think the only two extreme right candidates showed up. Huckabee (sp?) and the other guy. This group is even too loony for the republicans.

The lyrics and tone are reminiscent of "Tomorrow Belongs To Me" from "Cabaret."

Man, is it a stretch - or what - to blame everything wrong with this country (and their definition of wrong would greatly differ from mine) on a Supreme Court decision enforcing constitutional separation of church and state?

Stupid, gullible half-wits. They should have been reading books instead of praying.

Oh, and Republicans....having a black (and 2 whites) Nazi Chorus at your little soirée doesn't cancel out the fact that you haven't the nerve to show up for Tavis Smiley.

Just a bunch of welfare nigresses who have shat out about a dozen illigets pointing at the sliver in others eyes. Nothing new here. Pull their welfa' check and they will be first in line at the abortion clinic.

You can totally tell the lyricist wasn't queer.

My favorite part is the guy at the end who not only can't sing, but also has. to. pause. after. every. word.

Guess he didn't think reading his Bible beforehand was important.

It's a common problem.

Surely I'm not the only person to note the irony of an African American woman -- singing solo! -- bemoaning those activist judges of the 1960s

I don't know, those podiums all looked full to me.

Jeez, religious people are stupid.

As I commented over at Digby's place, we have to understand: the Right OWNS patriotism. They ARE, by definition, patriotic. If they blame 9/11 on Americans, that's patriotic. If they chase boys through the halls of Congress, that's patriotic. If they pay a gay whore, that's patriotic. Patriotism depends on stated beliefs, not actions. Lying to start a war is patriotic, if the Right does it. Trying to stop said war is treason, if liberals do it. Condemning homosexuality is patriotic, even if done with a stomach full of semen from the last trip to the restroom, if the Right does it. The Right has been saying this for forty years; how long will it take you liberals to understand this simple truth?

Actually all the top tier rethuglican candidates DID NOT show up- but that didn't stop questioners from asking them questions like the woman who screamed at Guliani's unmanned podium why he was trying to kill her with abortions. This is really old news folks, thoroughly disected on other blog outlets like 2 weeks ago- please vary the sources of your news so you don't have to wait for Dan (love ya, though, Dan) to get around to reporting on something other politicall aware folks have already talked about and moved on from to the next out rage- you gotta keep up or your outrage fatigue will start to wear off and you won't be numb anymore!

We should put prayer back in the schools, hand out the koran to each student, then let an imam take over. Only then will the Christianists be speed-dialing the ACLU. The irony is that the strongest separation of church and state provisions are in state constitutions rather than the federal constitution. In 1876 (!), Congress required that all new states admitted to the Union include a provision for the establishment and maintenance of public schools that were "free from sectarian control." Why? To make sure that no public support would go to Catholic parochial schools. Article I Section 11 of the Washington State Constitution provides in part: "No public money or property shall be appropriated for or applied to any religious worship, exercise or instruction, or the support of any religious establishment. . . ." Thank God!
