The Maggie Awards is an event in which volunteers for the Democratic Party are awarded for their help as I recall.

Hillary being there is actually a pretty impressive, I remember Cantwell speaking there last year.

Way overdue.

Unless she doesn't want to have a chance at being the VP.

Maggie got woke up by Rod Stewart, who was surprised but not unhappy to find he'd slept with the senior senator from the State of Washington.

I'm undecided on my presidential candidate, but I think that it is awesome that Hillary Clinton is coming to town. Speaking at the State Dems "Maggie Awards" is a big deal.

Maggie - nickname for Warren G. Magnuson - the most powerful man in the US Senate for decades.

Elected many terms, beloved in Washington State. Chaired Senate apropreations committee - note: chaired.

Maggie married very late in life, loved to drink, famous story teller, very much an FDR Democrat, at one timed suggested nationalizing oil companies, and was an avowed internationalist.

Mount St Helens erupted - in three days had billions of federal money pouring into Washington - with no place to spend it. MAGGIE SAID WE NEED A LOT OF MONEY, CONGRESS SAID OH SURE, HERE'S SOME BILLIONS. The state was not able to spend all the money allocated.

At the same time Scoop Jackson chaired the Senate Interior Committee - Washington was rolling in congressional power.
