Potentially good news for Seattle's waterfront and Maury Island.

Josh--Is there a particular reason for this, besides to spend more time with his family? I don't know anything about him, so maybe this isn't the issue, but do they want someone with a campaign background to takeover in advance of next year? Presumably the timing (just in advance of Rossi's announcement) is significant.

Tom developed a reputation yes-man and an ass-coverer. Also, from a PR perspective, his shop has been completely unable to capitalize on some of the Governor's real accomplishments for liberals, e.g. better education funding, gay rights, digging out of a severe budget shortfall, shoring up some of the damage done to higher ed. He let the Governor be maneuvered, mostly by the Speaker, on the viaduct issue and managed to get everyone on every side of the issue pissed off at her.

We wish him well in the private sector.

We hope the Governor can find a chief who can fix the PR, run a tighter policy shop, and tell the truth when she doesn't want to hear it.
