I think anyone who lived in New York at the time can tell you that locating the command center at the WTC complex was controversial and questionned widely. It was certainly a political decsion, and it appeared that Rudy was behind it. The radios for fireman were another sore spot from after the first bombing until 9/11. I think responsibility for that debacle lays with Rudy as well.
Rudy only looked good by comparison. Bush was hiding like the fucking mama's boy that he is, and here was Rudy on the street. Bush didn't show up for days. The most ridiculous aspect is how often the Bush bullhorn PR stunt got played on TV. That and Rudy's calling off the search after that gold was dug up.
The firemen were hereos that day. I think everyone in New York wanted to be one of them after 9/11. If they and their families are calling Rudy a snake, there's not an ounce of doubt in my mind that he is. I hated him as a mayor. I gave hima brief reprieve after 9/11 b/c the federal gov't seemed not to be operational and he was out on the street. But I'm back to thinking that he's just an opportunist who's used 9/11 to advance his own agenda.
I like how they blurred out the FoxNews Emblem
Guiliani spent more time at Yankee Games than at Ground Zero
I don't understand the Rudy worship. In the aftermath of the attack, the man behaved competently, no more, no less. That should be expected of the mayor of the largest city in the country. I suppose, at this point in history, American politicians are so inept that simple competence astounds and delights the public.
The Democrats need to get the message out to people all over America what a dirtbag Giulliania is. I have this fear that somehow he is going to end up our next president.
