sweet - too bad we Seattleites will end up shelling out another $1 million in extra security costs for this unfunded federal imposition on Seattle.

When is GWB resigning?

Why didn't Bush just paypal Reichert instead? There is nothing positive for the GOP about this Bush visit whatsoever.

Not that I mind this, but still.. ???

Poor Ms. Bruner and the Democrat party. They’re still running as if it was 2004. Time is running out on the Bush administration and time is also running out for the Democrat party to come up with new ideas on how to win elections. There’s hardly any more anti-bush sentiment that hasn’t already been utilized. It’s just theatre for them now.

Fact is, Bush is rising in the opinion polls and despite what amateur pundits say, the GOP still likes ‘W and wants to see him.

Right, shrub's poll numbers have jumped through the roof - all the way from 26% to a whopping 30%! Halleluja and pass the pork rinds!

At this point, quite a few key GOP legislators are trying to maintain as much distance between themselves and shrub in anticipation of a further GOP spanking in '08. While there may be some current pushback to the dismal polling numbers he showed earlier in the year, it's still only the most vociferously loyal hard-righties doing the pushing, and 30% approval is about as good as can be expected through the end of his term, barring some miracle, like say, the "sudden discovery" of Bin Laden in a cave in northern Pakistan or some-such.
