In the closest equivalent to this year's primary, the September 2003 turnout was 29.54%. Two years ago, when we had primaries for County Executive, Sheriff, and all nine County Council seats, the primary drew 29.68% of registered voters.

So if we actually do turn out 34% of the electorate this year, that will, in fact, be a huge increase in participation.

You'll have to submit a provisional ballot, which you can do by going to any polling location. Probably best to go to your own local polling place, since you'll be able to get a ballot for the correct precinct -- and therefore, the correct candidates you're eligible to vote for -- but it can actually be done at any site.

In past elections (even school levies) 52 would have been the number for each precinct. Such a low turnout is bound to produce weird results.
