"Due to an error by the Stranger’s production department."

I think that one might have been a team effort.

Jack Block got the top rating by the muni league for Port Commissioner, yet no mention at all of him. Did you guys forget? Or, is his position of preserving jobs in Seattle's industrial corridor incompatible with the Stranger's attitude of either/or, when it comes to Viaduct replacement and the preservation of jobs in SoDo and waterfront freight mobility?

Keith Scully for Prosecutor? You might want to speak with a few of his former colleagues at KCPAO, many of whom would award him with the "Laziest Deputy Prosecutor on the Planet" prize. Seriously, the dude did *not* leave by his own choice.

Wait a minute...I get it. You're secretly endorsing Satterburg by proxy. What's your real beef with Bill Sherman? No reach-around for Dan?

Venus? Are you from Mars? What a joke! The Stranger has been railing constantly about condo conversion and all this TRUE CRIME about how expensive housing is around here and you support the woman who is sleeping with developers? Not actually having sex with them, but sucking up to them and their LARGE contributions. Did Steinbrueck know Venus was going to sell out to developers when he endorsed her? Did he know that the very people he has fought are funding her campaign?
What is wrong with you people at the Stranger, anyway? Bruce Harrell can kick Greg Nickels butt, and then some. Hell, the Stranger wants someone who will demand better policing, then endorses the chica who supports the mayor's policy of promoting abusive cops. Go figure.

Um, where is the Della/Burgess race? Am I crazy of was it not covered by the SECB?

ben,

Della v. Burgess won't be on the primary ballot ... they go straight to the general in November. Same for Soriano v. Maier in School Board district #1 and Martin-Morris v. Blomstrom in School Board #3.

People want to vote for her because her name sounds like a drag queen.

Wait a minute. Bruce Harrell, the downtown and political establishment choice, is not getting “downtown money” and Venus, the progressive do-gooder is? What’s wrong with this picture? Perhaps it says more about Harrell and his lame, know-nothing campaign than it does about Venus. He can't even convince his own base that he's the best choice. They're sufficiently repelled by him that they would rather support a lefty social worker supported by Peter Steinbrueck. How sad for Bruce.

Nota Dime, I have two things to say to you:

1. If being able to kick Mayor Nickel's butt qualifies one for the council, then your candidate has it made. He definitely looks like a thug for hire.
2. Shame on you for your sexist remarks.

Nota Dime, that is the most sexist and racist slog post I think I've ever seen. How dare you reduce ANYONE, much less a candidate you oppose, to 2 qualities: her gender and her race???? I hope The Stranger removes your slog post for being so incredibly inappropriate, and that you're not associated with the Harrell campaign. It's appalling to know someone who thinks like you supports Harrell, so perhaps the damage has already been done.

Thanks for the mention in your article about the Port Commissioner race. My position to reduce and phase out the port tax is not different from Alec Fisken's - your choice in position 5. The tax itself has reached an irresponsible level. It has doubled in the last 6 years. In your article you correctly identify the beneficiaries of this tax. "The $68 million tax levy is serving corporate interests instead of public interests." It's a bit confusing for you to pick one candidate that supports this and one that doesn't.

Transparency IS Job1 at the port due to all the bad headlines and scandals. I am committed to accountability and a port that does its business in open session. I have 10 years direct experience with the Port of Seattle as a former business tenant. I have also made a strong commitment to the environment in my platform. We can do all this with a more efficient, self-sustaining Port.
