Today’s GOP

posted by on August 15 at 16:01 PM

From the Seattle PI:

The tomcatting of the elected prosecutor in this conservative rural town has jeopardized as many as four cases brought by his office and prompted a complaint to the state bar association.

Liam Michael Golden, a Republican who ran unopposed for Lewis County prosecutor last November, is facing allegations that he did not properly disclose past sexual relationships with the mother of a victim in one case and the mother of a defendant in another. His office also charged someone with cyberstalking a woman Golden had slept with, though Golden recently turned that case over to a prosecutor from neighboring Thurston County.

The fourth case involves a 16-year-old boy charged this month with providing drugs to the mayor’s 20-year-old son, leading to his fatal overdose. Some locals have questioned why any charge was brought in that case and suggested it was timed to deflect bad press.

Now wait just a minute—I thought Republicans believed that we were supposed to be abstinent outside of marriage. Liam Michael Golden is divorced. What kind of example does his tomcatting set for the children of Washington state?

Could you please define cybyerstalking.

What do they get by cyberstalking?

Sorry to be a bit behind the times here.

No, no, no, girls are supposed to be celibate outside of marriage.  Boys are encouraged to sleep around with all the promiscuous liberal Catholic school girls, who clearly don't count.

How very droll of all people, Dan Savage, to begrudge the guy a horny, all you can get and more, type sex life.

Did I miss a column where Dan sets a quota on sexual interests and horny fucking? And a criteria from outsider moral police and writers?

Liam, I suggest, is most likely a good lay, and in small town the word "hot in bed" really gets around. When that happens, gay or straight, they knock at your door ... been there.

Conflicts of interest is another topic.

harold, are you intentionally skipping over the commentary following the article, the point as it were? and #2's hilarious commentary followup? it's about the morals associated with republicanism, how those morals are forced onto others' sex lives, the hypocritical pricks those republicans often turn out to be, etc. etc. we've seen these posts once or twice before. don't be annoying and mis-read on purpose.

It seems to me you don't need an embarrassing sex scandal to want to (even wrongly) prosecute someone in the accidental death of a prominent citizen's child.

Hey, I am a Republican and I know Liam "Mike" Golden, even voted for him.

I hope the Republicans in Lewis County do the right thing and unelect him. We deserve better than someone mired in sleaze like this.
