Good move. Back in the day a new piece by Krugman or Brooks used to be fodder for some interesting discussion in the political blogosphere, but that's completely changed.
What's that you say...? Stop forcing people to pay for content they can find elsewhere for free?! Why, that's just madness, DANG NABBIT!!
Mark my words- pretty soon they'll be running adverts, just like they do on the movin' picture box!
About damn time. I miss my Maureen Dowd.
Hoo-ray! ...and Frank Rich, who is one of the four living word ninjas.
Now I can go back and read all those Sarah Vowell columns I didn't want to pay for.
I've paid the yearly fee since they started the damn thing. I HAVE TO HAVE THE NYT EVERY MORNING IN ITS ENTIRETY!!!!!
Whooeee....charging was silly anyways.
But, but, I just PAID for a WHOLE YEAR!!!
Way, Way, Way overdue.
Now i can finally get the print edition of the NYT to replace my cancelled WSJ subscription and not feel bad about where the money goes.
Woohoo!
I never minded paying, except when reading that idiot Brooks.
w00t! I used to read the NYT op-ed page online every morning, and stopped when they wanted me to pay for it. I still read WaPo and LATimes, and will probably continue, but adding the Grey Lady back will be awesome too.
It was always free if you had a .edu email address ;-)
