What is with this epidemic of deaths amongst the World's Oldest People? Every time someone is named World's Oldest Man or Woman, they die within weeks or months! It's as if they are suffering from some deadly condition that comes along with being the World's Oldest. Someone should look into this.

Viaduct closed, big congestion. Mayor walks to work.

I-5 closed no problems. Empty streets.

Logical conclusion: Close I-5 keep the Viaduct.

If not for the visions (hallucinations?) of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, we wouldn't have "Team America." Come on, they were artists. Like Ed Woods. And for some reason they always make me think of Salvador Dalí.

I'm definitely pervy, but I've never understood filming people in the bathroom. Who wants to watch someone taking a shit? Lockeroom, changing room, showers, maybe; but toilet? Not hot...

Totally Dali. But no lobsters, sadly.

That twat David Brooks in the NYT today:

"Jobs performed in front of a keyboard don’t supply a code of dignity, which explains the spiritual anxiety that plagues the service economy."

From his romantic, douchey, and condescending piece on a long-haul truckers.

The P-I ran a story today about how I-5 has been trouble-free while buses, trains, and ferries have been running late due to the extra load. It's a pity; that isn't going to make people want to stick with public transit when this is over. On Monday I hear some buses even *got lost* due to incorrect route notes about the detour.

FLOSSIE?

Hurricane FLOSSIE?

Have they run out of Archies character names already?

I have friends going to school on the Big Island, so I hope everyone there is ok.

The war on drugs is like the war on terror - a massive clvsterfvck that accomplishes nothing except filling the pockets of Red Bushie comrades while draining American taxpayers pockets.

Oh crap, I forgot to get batteries when I bought tuna last night. On the plus side, the waves in Waikiki are up right now.

I can't zip up my white go-go boots over my calves anymore. I guess it's not even worth trying to get into the Rudi Gernreich orange micro-mini.

The most disturbing thing about the child exploitation case (of the foster daughters) eluded me until someone mentioned it in the PI comments: the 'dad' got control of the girls by testifying against their mother in a murder conspiracy case, resulting in her incarceration (and his becoming the girls' foster father). I wonder if he's a perjurer as well as a rapist?
