Slog - Comments on Postcard from a Traffic Jam Near Cle Elum http://slog.thestranger.com/2007/08/postcard_from_a_traffic_jam_near_cle_elu Yesterday around dinner time, traffic was stopped on I-90 near Cle Elum: dead stopped, then crawling along a little, then stopped, then crawling, and on and on for a good couple hours. It was pretty and all-- --but it was a punishing drive. Except for one of the cars ahead of us--a white, four-door family car with bubbles coming out of one of the windows. Some kids were having a great time. And their bubbles were big! As we got closer to the car, we saw that it wasn't just an unusually big bubble ring someone was blowing through, but... With most of my family in Moses Lake, we've learned the hard way to get out of Dodge early, otherwise your 2.5 hour trip becomes closer to 4 hours. And most of the time, there's not some wacky lady with bubbles, just assholes in SUVs.
