Thanks, best Slog post in a long time. You should post weekly on day hikes. Get the Queens off their asses. Point out that when you get in the woods it is very private and can be the best settings sex play in the world. Forest Ranger porn comes to life.

Renew their vigor and outlook.

Life is not all clubs and movies and very overpriced ordinary dining... well, really just eating and spending a lot of cash.

My legs are really messed up from an accident, but used to hike like a madman. Lots of choice trails close to this city.

thx for the feedback, gold.

to illustrate your point:

there was a registration box at the trailhead; each hiker was asked to sign a page and supply their name, zip code, and the purpose of their trip.

i put down "day hike." on the way out, i checked the registration page again. another 20 or so people had signed up. more than a few listed as the purpose of their trip "outdoor sex."

All this fresh air business in nonsense. You're lucky to have made it back with your hide still attached, if you ask me.

As the grandmother of my favorite Northwest Authoress (Betty MacDonald) used to say "An animal is a beat. And a wild animal is a WILD BEAST!"

You better believe that I'm saying my beads every time I have to visit the Skagit for work.

Gold- good point about the spending lots of cash. This past week I had forgotten my paperback for the bus commute and wanted something to distract me. After glancing at the wacky cover and headline on the Stranger in the newsbox, I decided to go for it. It wasn't until I turned it open I realized it was the Weekly. Capitalism and long drives are retroactivities and should be heeded with a more progressive mindset.
