on…the pastor stealing $500,000 from our church.
A longtime Round Rock pastor was arrested after telling authorities he embezzled at least $500,000 from his church, according to court records.Donald “Roddy” Clyde, 48, turned himself in to authorities Wednesday and was charged with felony theft of more than $200,000 from the Fellowship at Forest Creek Church. Clyde’s bail was set at $400,000, and he could face 99 years in prison if convicted.
Clyde told police that he used the church’s bank account and credit card to buy land, horses, vacations and other property, according to his arrest affidavit.

Those CRAZY God Believers. Imagine what that money could have done if they would have used it all to help the homeless!!
They say God (the supposed omnipotent all powerful being) is short on cash. Now we know why!!
Bitch Bitch Bitch. I'm no apologist for Christian assholes, but I'd really prefer you just bookmark these for an end of the week round-up. A title like "Christian Hypocrites, Be Pissed" or "Pay Attention and Weigh In" wouldn't demeen your message, Dan
Personally, progressive info like Mr. Hecht's "Week in Geek" would be appreciated as individual slog posts throughout the week. The implications discussed on the flood of new gadgets and software is much more interesting for this Slogger-Seattleite.
We know the tune Dan. We're in Seattle. Take your useful soapbox where backwards thinking people will consider your obsessive finger pointing.
Daniel, finger pointing kicks ass. Deal.
About Daniel @#2. What he is really saying is he is uncomfortable with these posts and would like more "safe" content that does not challenge his safety zone. Here is the Box and Daniel is in his Box.

I love it when Dan points out the hypocritical Christians. . .and the fucked up parents.
Two of the causes of our worlds biggest problems IMO.
It's comforting to know that atheists never commit crimes, and that all gay parents are perfect. Thanks, Dan.
This is why smart congregations have an independent auditor check their books regularly. Because nothing seems to tempt Christians like unwatched church money.
@6 and @7 - couldn't agree more. There's a reason why so many crimes (theft, child molestation, etc.) take place at church - church members tend to be "+too Christian" ie. "too trusting and only seeing the blessings of Jesus in people." It's time for more churches/church members to realize that church-going does not a Christian make.
These posts give me the impression that Reverend Lovejoy is far more representative of Christianity in America than Ned Flanders.
