Wooooo! Red Sox! Bwaaanananan!
That story doesn't even sound like the same game that I saw yesterday. BoSox was never 2-0 since the Ms got the first run.
A bunch of guys from Lookout Landing and USS Mariner got together to see the Tacoma Rainiers on Thursday and the Everett Aquasox on Friday. Both nights were fun but as a result, I missed all but the final frame of Friday's win, and then got to see quite a bit of Saturday's loss. I finally turned off the TV today and watched a Port of Seattle session on cable TV instead of today's game because it was less painful.
How was the trip, Dan?
The game story with the erroneous headline is from today's game, not yesterday. That's probably why it doesn't sound like the same game.
Gimme a break. Mentioning the miserable "Mare-a-ners" in the same breath with the Regal Red Sox. Wotta joke.
5. CHOWDAH. PAHK DA KAH IN HAHVAHD YAHD.
Remember when the BoSox fans were the romantic, lovable drunks? Then they won the Series, and everyone realized that with the romanticism and "impossible dream" crap they were were annoying, obnoxious drunks.
Where were you sitting Gomez? Ryan says you were there, but I didn't see you.
News from Dan Savage\'s war of liberation in Iraq--Freedom is on the march!
Over the past nine months, his family has suffered one horror after another. In June, his father disappeared while visiting Omer’s sister in a mixed and violent district that has been ethnically cleansed by Shia militias over the course of the year. (Omer’s family is Sunni.) Omer begged the local Office of the Martyr Sadr for information, but the Sadrists denied any involvement. After ten days or so, Omer went with a friend to look for his father at the morgue and found a scene of absolute hell. Bodies were stacked two or three high in the hallways, with no refrigeration, the older corpses beginning to decompose and generate maggots. Holding hands, Omer and his friend examined body after body until they found one that had been shot in the torso and might have been his father; they couldn’t be sure. Morgue officials led them to a room where a few dozen Iraqis, many of them women, were staring at six computer monitors. The screens showed a picture of one corpse’s face for a few seconds, then flashed the next face. Now and then, someone in the room would begin to wail. This was the closest thing to “closure” and dignity in death that the victims’ families could expect. Suddenly, the face of Omer’s father appeared on all six screens.
Every time Dan posts something, the same anti-war guy starts spamming the comments as if that will suddenly convince everyone that Savage delenda est.
Well, Dan did respond to this endless litany of comment spam a while back. In fact, he did it on video. Please refer to this YouTube link before posting more comment spam:
BAGHDAD - The bodies of 18 people, including two women, were found dumped across Baghdad in the past 24 hours, police said. Most of the bodies were found in Baghdad\'s predominantly Sunni Arab western Karkh side.
BAGHDAD - A barrage of mortar rounds at a petrol station killed 11 people lining up to fill their vehicles and wounded 15 others in eastern Baghdad, police said. Six people were wounded by mortar rounds at another petrol station in a nearby district.
* BAGHDAD - Two U.S. soldiers were killed in combat in Baghdad on Sunday, the U.S. military said.
Excerpt from \"Say Yes To War\" by Dan Savage October 2002
\"In the meantime, invading and rebuilding Iraq will not only free the Iraqi people, it will also make the Saudis aware of the consequences they face if they continue to oppress their own people while exporting terrorism and terrorists. The War on Iraq will make it clear to our friends and enemies in the Middle East (and elsewhere) that we mean business: Free your people, reform your societies, liberalize, and democratize... or we\'re going to come over there, remove you from power, free your people, and reform your societies for ourselves\"
7. I was well behind Ryan in one of the upper rows. In fact, he didn't see me until the end of the game, so if you were nearby, that's probably why you didn't see me.
delenda est dw? That phrase doesn\'t often come up on the SLOG. And links to a Metro blogging site AND a Shatner video telling people to get a life? Clearly you are a very witty well informed and educated hipster! IT IS annoying to be reminded of the war in Iraq isn\'t it? After all, like Dan, you will never have to fight in it. Fighting and dying in the Iraq war is for the little people-right DW. Partying and entertainment is for guys like you and Dan. Party on DW! Party on Dan! Go Mariners!
You suck, dotdotdot. You're a pathetic human being.
fnuckin fnarf, you are not fooling anyone.
We know you are really Dan Savage.
I was sitting next to Ryan in the front dealing with a wired three year old. I also got there a bit late, so I didn't ever get a good look at everyone (though Bob Fontaine did answer my question).
delenda est dw? That phrase doesn\'t often come up on the SLOG.
Stop right there. If you're so ignorant you don't know what "delenda est" is a reference to, then you clearly should get out of the anti-war business altogether.
I mean, honestly, this is the type of activist the anti-war movement is turning out? No wonder the quagmire in Iraq continues.
Fucking Fake G @14, you are not fooling anyone. We know you are really a troll.
