Larry Craig: Not Gay!

posted by on August 28 at 13:51 PM

Larry Craig is not now, and never has been, gay. So playing footsie with strange men in public restrooms is now considered straight. Or straight-identified.

Please make a note of it.

Well, that certainly settles it.

Remember kids, take a small stance when having a BM in a public rest room, lest you get misinterpreted.

is he going to come with a certificate that proves that he is in fact 100% hetero?

i'm just saying the media won't believe him until his 'overseers' issue paperwork on the matter

The sad part is, he probably really believes that he isn't "gay".

He got it up for a girl and had a few children!

The bathroom thing, although true, may to him just register as a thrill or fetish or something...not GAY. Not flag flying, lithp speaking, GAY!

That plus the power of denial....

Tragic.

Not great for the R's. It would've been much better if he would've resigned and they could've moved on. Now they've got a fight on their hands and a white knuckler to see if he runs for re-election. This dude has been playing this game his whole life and he thinks he can beat it if he just raises the stakes.

It's typical republican: Fredo is doing a great job, "Heckuva job, Brownie," Bush is smart, we're going to win in Iraq, trying to get a blowjob in an airport bathroom doesn't make you gay (nor does snorting meth and sucking cock, for that matter . . .)

It took a blowjob to take Clinton down. I will take one for the team and happily blow any and all closeted republicans (no matter how fat and icky) and get a picture, to help the cause.

It turns out that Idaho's governor is named C.L. "Butch" Otter.
Is Idaho secretly the gayest state in the union?

I don't think he's gay - he's just one of millions of straight men who occasionally have sex with men in public restrooms. Perhaps a new category is in order. Seems like "stray" would do fine.
He's "stray."

This is actually a good development, as he'll continue to hang around and be another albatross around the Republicans' necks. God knows those crazy, hypocritical, hateful, pathological liars are getting booted out of office if not out of the closet.

The Idaho Gov would have appointed even more psycho and right-wing if Craig had resigned.

Maybe I'm just looking for things to be angry about... but what's pissed me off the MOST is the apparent 'accepted truth' that the bad thing about all of this is that he's GAY.

And that's NOT it!! Being gay is not evil. Lying to your spouse and to your constituents may be evil. Seeking sex in a public restroom shows a serious lack of common sense for a congressman.

Oh, geez - I could almost forgive him if he hadn't stood up so strongly AGAINST gay rights...

The ignorant goi and their leaders make things too easy for us! Distracted goi listen to media blather about an incident in an Idaho restroom while their sons and daughters die in a war to make Israel safer.

It is Tikkum Olam fill up newspaper columns with this kind of nonsense while a war explodes in the Middle East. Anything to distract the goi and their shiksa.

The Kabbalah teaches us that man-woman gay-straight all flows from the ONENESS of Keter. As Jews we may experience all of sexuality and sensuality as a fluid continuum and move beyond rigidity towards the dissonance that is the song of creation.

But the ignorant goi must be forced to cling to their man-woman, gay-straight binary. Any man who had sex with another man is completely gay. No other possibility can be allowed for the goi.

Or do Republicans just shit their drawers as a matter of course?

Well, I guess poor old Larry just can't be cured of his "life choice" attraction to the same sex! As if he hasn't had enough warnings and wake up calls. It's just a shame he can't just "come out" and embrace his own sexual orientation instead bashing everyone else for not following the extreme religious right-wing Republican agenda.

Sounds like he married his poor ole wife (a single mom at the time) because he was under "gay scrutiny" back in the 1980's. Talk about another Rock Hudson closet case story! I feel bad for her, she has SUCH blinders on...

As for the rest of you Repubs, "People who live in glass houses, should NOT throw stones!" Your entire party is going to lose in 2008 because of the comedies of incompetence and hypocracy such as this...

It's PAY BACK time, Bushy!

I'm a Minnesotan, and the local news is reporting airport personnel noting that it is a specific bathroom at MSP that is used for these hook ups.

Now, MSP is a big place. I wonder what gate Craig arrived in and departed from, and whether either of those were near the bathroom in question. If it's way out of the way, how would he explain that?

I am a flaming radical progressive liberal, and I'm gonna stick up for an elected Republican here. Leave him alone! Sure, he did a misdemeanor, but what he did shouldn't be illegal!

I'm happy to see the Repubs trip all over their stupid rules and slide down into oblivion, but I'm not gonna call for this guy's resignation.

Who cares if he's gay? is that wrong? I don't understand why Democrats have been so vocal on this issue. Do we only like gay Democrats? Sheesh. We don't need a Senate ethics committee for THIS.

What I think the man has done wrong is act Republican all his life and hide being gay.

I heard his most recent comments. "I did not have sexual relations with that man, Mr. Lewinsky.
It's okay in the Oval office, but not the Airport in Minneapolis.
Another thing, I've driven home with too much alcohol in my system in past. Because I've done something wrong, doesn't mean I can't vote FOR drunk driving laws. Craig is gay. He also believes his behavior is wrong.
Sorry Will in Seattle, we don't hate you. You can boof to your hearts delight. We just disapprove. You hate us.

I have not been impressed with Larry Craig since his days as a barber shop quartet senator. He was on the today show years ago travelling with other senators to political functions singing in this group. It made me mad that are state tax money was paying him to travel around and sing. He also lead the rally cry to impeach Clinton for his infidelity and immorality as craig put it. he has to be the biggest hypocrite ever.

@54; He is way up on the list, at any rate.

@53;You have admitted that you have driven home while too drunk to drive and that you might vote to enforce stricter laws against driving under the influence of alcohol. That is all well and good, but Larry Craig denies that he ever was gay, which makes him an incredibly bad man since he, apparently, intends to continue to vote against gay rights laws while continuing to be a closeted gay man pretending to be straight (a la Ted Haggard).

Less than a year following his weird 1982 denial of sex with Congressional pages, the then 38-year old bachelor was married.
One thing I've never seen reported. There are websites that give 'suggestions' on finding sex with men. Where was this bathroom in the airport? Was it near his arrival or departure gates? Or did he have to go out of his way to find it?

Do you guys really condemn this guy because he's gay? What's with all the hate. So he's a hypocrite, but I don't see people flaming the senator for that, as much as the fact he might be homosexual.

Seriously, where is the base for this kind of jeering and hatred for being gay? :/ What is this the 50's? Get over it.
