Yellow elephants.

Why haven't they enlisted?

Uh huh.

Thought so.

Posted by Will in Seattle | August 27, 2007 4:58 PM

whoa, those dudes look hella smart.

Posted by dre | August 27, 2007 4:58 PM

Hey, you know, someone has to be buying those As I Lay Dying CDs.

Posted by Judah | August 27, 2007 4:59 PM

Ditto @#2. I love that 'Give war a chance' has become the message of glamour and pizzaz!

Posted by dkseeger | August 27, 2007 5:01 PM

Are you sure this isn't parody?

I mean, really -- "George W. Bush, Great President or the Greatest President?" Are they aware that Colbert isn't actually one of them?

Posted by N in Seattle | August 27, 2007 5:05 PM

Always good to know what the enterprising young shit-for-brains is wearing this fall.

Posted by flamingbanjo | August 27, 2007 5:06 PM

Why aren't these shit-stains serving in Iraq? If you support the war and are of enlistment age, why aren't you in Iraq fighting?

Posted by chris | August 27, 2007 5:06 PM

That guy in picture four, on the left, is wearing the stupidest-looking jeans I have ever seen. Seriously. You make the Kris Kross guys look sensible.

Posted by Fnarf | August 27, 2007 5:08 PM

When 90% of your community hates the president, what's a rebellious teen to do? Support him! This is parody, they just don't know it.

Posted by DOUG. | August 27, 2007 5:08 PM

Maybe instituting the draft to scare the crap out of (and some sense into) these rednecks from the OC isn't that bad an idea. Please someone put a "Who would Jesus bomb?" bumpersticker on a bat and do a Pesci on these kids' heads. What do they teach at Jesus U (The Misunderstood Genius of the Crusades) and why don't they offer internships in Tehran for a semester where their students could learn something about tolerance?

Posted by left coast | August 27, 2007 5:19 PM

@9 - LOL ... Doesn't he know that having the ass-pocket in front makes all Republicans look like fashion retards? Reichert may never recover from this.

Posted by Mahtli69 | August 27, 2007 5:20 PM

I'm not the least bit shocked.

Posted by Mr. Poe | August 27, 2007 5:31 PM

If it's not parody, reality has been getting a lot funnier lately.

Posted by jkjk | August 27, 2007 5:34 PM

Please. the guy in pic #4 was going to wear his "Mom Jeans" but said no. What the HELL is a MA in Leadership Studies? A Master's in how to bullshit and spin????

Posted by Cato the Younger Younger | August 27, 2007 5:41 PM

"Out of Iraq and into Iran" is an excellent protest sign. Israel has no greater threat to her security than Iran. America must act.

It's not enough to just send foreign aid to Israel, as Jews we must demand more from the idiot Christian Americans. Attacking Iran would prove that America really cares about Israel and was a true allie of the Jewish people.

Posted by Issur | August 27, 2007 5:41 PM

Masters in Leadership Studies guy bears a startling resemblance to noted closet queen and former RNC chairman Ken Mehlman...I'm just sayin'.

Posted by switzerblog | August 27, 2007 5:45 PM

What would these guys (where are the ladies anyway, fellas? mommy issues like your role model Jesus-Pres or are you back at home for a circle jerk?) think about the fact that we're selling billions in arms to the Saudis and giving billions in aid to Isreal to buy arms? Is this considered foreign policy at the Leadership Studies program of Jesus U?

Posted by left coast | August 27, 2007 6:01 PM

@4 - What's wrong with As I Lay Dying?

They're a christian band?!?!?

I've been listening to them for years!

I suppose I should have known, but in my defense, the lyrics are at times very difficult to decipher . . .

Posted by Atheist | August 27, 2007 6:04 PM

they just need a nice dick in the ass to come to their senses.

Posted by imjusttheonetodoit | August 27, 2007 6:18 PM

My thoughts exactly #20,

With that said, I'd volenteer, just as long as they had a sock shoved in their mouths the whole time.

Posted by Brandon H | August 27, 2007 6:44 PM

#20 - they're christian and republican. you can bet they've already had a dick in the ass. i'd say what they need is a nice trip to Iraq.

Posted by scout | August 27, 2007 7:04 PM

When you get right down to it, it's nothing but youth rebellion mixed with misguided religious fervor.

The ultimate joke will always be lost on them, of course: When they die, they won't know that there's nothing, because they'll be part of that nothing. They will have thrown away their life on a second rate fairy tale, sold to them by the rankest of hucksters.

Compound that with their defense of a party comprised mostly of sociopaths who have a thinly concealed contempt for them, but realize that their ignorance equals both votes and cannon fodder, and it's even more pathetic.

So let them waste their youth, their hope and their opportunity on this kind of shit. The cosmos will get the last laugh.

Posted by catalina vel-duray | August 27, 2007 7:05 PM

I think they're delightfully refreshing, even though I'm a Hillary supporter.

Posted by raindrop | August 27, 2007 8:09 PM

Young Fred Phelps.

Posted by bing | August 27, 2007 8:19 PM

To support is genius. And, side note, bashing what these boys are wearing is cheap. look at some of those heinous anus libs...get over yourselves

And I'm assuming he's wearing flipflops, correct?
official summer shoe of white priviledge. No wonder guys like him are in denial about global warming.

Posted by CalamityPositive | August 28, 2007 6:30 AM

Wow. These guys aren't even wearing suits, so I guess they aren't really representing the right very well. And yes, all we care about is what they are wearing. In tomorrow's news: George W. Bush wears a dark blue suit with a white shirt and red tie. His wife stands beside him in a lovely red dress with comfortable pumps and a $400 hairdo. White House Press: Mr. President! Can you tell me where you get your suits? GWB: Well, I have to have them specially made at a cost of 8 gillion dollars. I'm sure the taxpayers can understand that I need to look my best at all times and you can't find fashion like this at JCPenney by God! White House Press: Giggle in spite of themselves.....oh I'm sorry, I was just getting to the topic of the post...what was it now???

As someone who has a nephew and two cousins in Iraq right now, all I can say to these idiot children is, Get Thy Asses Into Uniform Stat. What the hell are you doing promoting war standing on a street corner? Where are those pesky recruiters when you need 'em?

Way to never, EVER get laid in Seattle, guys.

Posted by Geni | August 28, 2007 11:32 AM

those republican guys are way hot. and to answer the question on the sign in the last picture: Bush is great, Reagan was the greatest.

Posted by hotrepublicans | August 28, 2007 11:52 AM

They should move to Colorado Springs. They'd blend right in.

Posted by Marie | August 28, 2007 12:53 PM

I don't get the argument that supporting Bush is somehow heroic or brave, standing up to those dirty liberals and all... Fuck YOU. It's not brave, you're conforming to your conservative religion and the neocon interpretation of conservative politics (ie: not conserving much of anything), to your Tedd Haggards, Pat Robertsons and their xenophobic, skewed interpretation of ancient books written by fallible men.

FUCK YOU. You want to start/continue a war, you go fight it.

War should be a last resort, something you do before you fall over the edge, not something you start. Preemptive strike my ass. Iraq is not WWII.

Posted by bearseatbeats | August 28, 2007 1:53 PM

All this jeering about these dopes not getting laid is useless. They're all saving themselves for marriage, right? Abstinence only, kids!

Posted by tasty | August 28, 2007 8:12 PM

...but, returning to the substantive issue, I would tap that.

Posted by Manlovin | August 28, 2007 8:13 PM

#34 halfthepeople, yup, 30% equals one half. Gotta hand it to those Youth for Jesus Bush on the brains front.

Posted by maddogm13 | August 29, 2007 4:58 PM

I have known Russell since he was born and would stand by him, his ideals and 'right side of the isle' opinions ANYDAY!

Posted by Micah | August 29, 2007 5:16 PM

it's funny, because this totally reminded me of the kid who followed the anti-war parade sometime this spring i think.
knee jerk reaction is to knee jerk him in the nuts, but when you think about it, he's only doing exactly what everyone else was there to do. to a certain degree, you have to hand it to him, he's not exactly doing the popular thing (at least here).

as for the AILD comment- they may be christian, but they're a pretty liberal lot other than that, and as far as i can tell, one of the least likely groups of christians to push their beliefs on anyone else. regardless, their lyrics aren't really christian at all. or incendiary conservative for that matter.

Posted by frequency ass bandit | August 29, 2007 6:56 PM

Stereotypcial liberal responses. Try to attack King Russell personally instead of on the issues. It just makes him stronger so keep it up...

Why doesn't Russell go to Iraq? Not everyone is called to be a soldier. I support NASA but I'll never be an astronaut. How does my logic feel to you? Hurts so good.

I don't know anything about Russell's sex life but if and when he saves himself it'll be with a smokin' hot conservative babe because everyone knows that conservative women are physically and intellectually more attractive than liberal women, who are more inclined to abort their fetuses and carry an STD of some kind. Conseravatives have Bo Derek types while liberals have trollbags like Helen Thomas.

Looks like your paving a new way Russell. It's working so keep it up!

Pat Riotachd wrote:

There's just enough 15-year-old, right-wing fucktard attitude in that comment that I suspect Pat actually meant it and is not just trolling, so I'll respond.

Pat, are you really comparing a career with NASA to serving your country as a member of our volunteer armed forces? You can't just walk into a NASA recruiting office and sign up, you know. NASA isn't looking for a few good men, they're looking for fucking astronauts. Able-bodied people who support what NASA does are not in short supply. Even if the bar for becoming an astronaut was as low as that for becoming a soldier and you were qualified for and supportive of what NASA does but declined to join, you wouldn't be contributing to the deaths of thousands of astronauts while still lobbying to send more of them off to their deaths while saying, "I support what NASA does and I'll lobby for them to do more of it, but I'm not putting my ass on the line, 'cause, you know, not everyone is astronaut material."

Your analogy is ridiculous.

Like most everyone here, I'm still wondering how this kid can say he thinks the U.S. invasion of Iraq was and the continued U.S. occupation of Iraq in the midst of Iraqi civil war is such a worthy cause that he'll go out of his way to ensure that more of our troops -- many of whom have been forced to serve more than the amount of time we promised them they'd have to serve when they signed up -- must to go off and die for it, while he, seemingly qualified to relieve one of those soldiers, is instead over here waving his Young Republican Chickenhawk banner.

#49 - When we conservatives say we support the war it does not mean we want this war. No one wants war. We simply believe we have an obligation to complete this mission as started, and train the Iraq army.

For all those that are ASSUMING these gentlemen have not served our country you know what assuming does. My boyfriend did serve our country and did step up serving a tour in Iraq and he still is out there with these gentlemen supporting this war. And now your argument is? We knows better than anyone what is happening over there and he still believes this is worth fighting for.

Why must we attack personally instead of addressing the issues at hand? Conservatives are confident in what we believe and these gentlemen are putting themselves out there. If you agree or disagree with them attacking them personally proves nothing. Respect their opinions as I have respected all the above opinions. I could come in and rip on your personal sex life, or clothes but then out argument has moved no where. Grow up.

Come with facts people not personal attacks. A few people above did it, take a lesson.

"NASA isn't looking for a few good men, they're looking for fucking astronauts."

Only a few good men can be astronauts too, little Einstein.

"Even if the bar for becoming an astronaut was as low as that for becoming a soldier and you were qualified for and supportive of what NASA does but declined to join, you wouldn't be contributing to the deaths of thousands of astronauts while still lobbying to send more of them off to their deaths while saying..."

It takes more courage to enter a war zone than to post frothing, liberal bile online.

Last I checked, the war against Islamofascists wasn't taking place on Mars. :)

"I support what NASA does and I'll lobby for them to do more of it, but I'm not putting my ass on the line..."

What do you think they do everytime they sit on tons of rocket fuel while launching into outer space? Your parents obviously didn't homeschool you.

YOU'RE ridiculous Phil.

You miss my point entirely. I could say, "I support the NBA" but only a select few will be of power forward quality. I know I won't but I'll watch some games anyway. On and on I could go. You support Hillary or Barack or Edwards? Then run for president Master Debater! Is it sinking in? Doubtful...

Your name is Phil. That's what you do to little kids.

Liberals always verbally attack decenters, but never informed or with facts.

Saddam had 17 chances too many, to avoid the continuation of the war he started. The U.N. proving itself to be as ineffectual as its predacessor, The League of Nations, which is solely resonsible for causing WWII by not making Germany and Hitler live up yo the Treaty of Versailles which ended WWI. It was the liberal quabbling and bickering in the League of Nations which caused the U.S. to withdraw itself from that organization, and later had to pay for Europe's liberal stupidity with our own blood.
Not saying that Saddam's Iraq would have ever been as powerful as Hitler's Germany, but who knows what could or would've happened if left up to the U.N.? The U.S. is the worlds Superpower only because of the fact that European nations cannot grasp the concept of learning lessons from history. Look at France in particular; They had the 1789 revolution because they envied what we'd accomplished with ours by Conservative Revolutionaries. They killed the king, queen and all the heirarchy, then replaced them with the dictatorial Emperor Napolean. How's that for logic? How about the fact France was invaded by Germany, the U.S. enters the stalemated WWI, saves their ass, they don't appreciate it, they don't make Germany live abide by the treaty that ended the war, and 20 something years later they're invaded by Germany again. Ironic?
Hitler could've been stopped, but wasn't.
Saddam would still be in power and still in persuit of WMD's, if it was left up to the French and the U.N.

We are at war with Islamo-Fascists who want nuclear and bio weapons to kill us all, liberals -and smart people as well. Maybe its the war on (fascists) the liberals really don't like, because deep down they're their kind of people, fascism being just another form of socialism.
Na-Zi / National Socialist, which is not that far removed from the Communist form of socialism. Present day socialism is based on a combination of the two concepts, and is being carried on in America by the democratic party. (Google-Norman Thomas)
If you people were as open minded as you claim to be, you might actually learn something for a change and find out that deep down you're really a consevative at heart, instead of a bunch of idiots which you've chosen to be!

If you don't like what I've said, it's because as liberals, you don't like hearing the truth because you not used to truth.
