I've gone mobile. Yahoo! And my date is late. He's got dog troubles. But I'm close by Gaswerks, I'll look for 'em. Got a good angle, the same spot where I listened to Black Hole Sun during a mid-90s Bumbershoot.

from the PI's article at 12:42am: "Between 2000 and 2003, the school's Washington Assessment of Student Learning scores nearly tripled in the writing section and more than doubled in the writing section."

Aww. The writing section. The PI has such high high standards for publication!

Yes, apparently "Friends of Gasworks Park" are suing the city in the hopes to have the marriage annulled...

Katelynnnn - above

Is this sort of comment the joy in your life?

all media has what are now called bloopers ... I hear even those print paragons like the NY Times and Chicago Tribune ... seems they/newspapaers are assembled by human beings ... of course since you work for the Stranger and they harp on other peoples typos, THEIR typos are just accidental and so sorry, a small mistake ...

Life is passing you by Katheryn, fucking if spedded ducking is still fun .... get a life on Sat. night ...

That Gasworks fete looks like it was even more spectacularrr than one of Dennis Kozlowski's Tyco-funded birthday parties for his wife.

Well, now his ex-wife. Not to rain on the parade -- I'm sure a good time was had by all.

Hey, Freddy: that wasn't a P-I article, it was a blog entry, and "Katelyn" is not the same person as "Amy Kate". Since you're so intent on keeping track of bloopers, you should probably make note of your own, huh?

Those fireworks were the best I've ever seen. I kept wondering if I was high. I totally wasn't. :D

If I ever have that kind of money, I'm absolutely going to blow it up like that once in a while. Yeay, rich people!

Watched a lot of the "party" from our Lake Union apt. It was sponsored by CADILLAC and they had a huge lighted boat with a giant logo on top trolling around Lake Union. GROSS. And the music was LAME!

hoey Fnarf -

Since when is journalistic work organized by paid staffers at the PI and on the official Pee Eye blog not an article...

wel, wel, wel

Bloopers, me no way, I was toying with someone named Katlyn and who is Amy Kate?

I have noted a lot of snide comments from Stranger staff about typos in other media, of course immune to their own motes ... in this case, a very obvious and trivial error and not my idea of Sat night fun ... nor any type of wit

And you, Fnarf, did you see the fireworks, they were very good

Now, out to raise hell till the dawn ...

It was a great fireworks display, and it looked like a hell of a party. Trapeze artists! Drag queens! A gospel choir! Ambiatic lighting everywhere! Chauffered by ducks! I was expecting something stuffy, but this party had style. I didn't see any sign of corporate sponsorship. If they make a donation to the parks- more power to them.

Did I mention I LIVE in Wallingford? Yes, and I'm PRO-PARTY, as are most of our nearby friends and neighbors. THe "Friends of Wallingford" can go take a dip in the lake. Party on!

@14: Not sponsored by Cadillac. The shipping containers were part of something called China8.

Best fireworks I've seen.

Um, Freddy, you said of Katelyn "you work at the Stranger and harp on other people's typos". That's Amy Kate, not Katelyn. Amy Kate's the person who posted the Slog item you're replying to.

The fireworks looked great from my vantage point, anchored in Juanita Bay. And there was another smaller display going on over on the Eastside... maybe it was in Meydenbauer Bay, about fifteen minutes earlier.

Loved the heart-shaped fireworks.

A shame they didn't just roll the DUKWs up on the shore like decent amphbious assault vehicles.

I live next door to Gas Works Park and that's why I put some nautical miles between me and the bandstand. Looked like fun the next morning.

I saw the fireworks.

It was bacially Lake Union July 4th redux. Which is still pretty damn cool. Make me wonder why EVERYBODY just doesn't go to Lake Union on July 4th instead of seeing the 'whatever' fireworks at Elliott Bay.

I work at the Stranger now?! SWEET. Also, I'm pro-accuracy regardless of the medium. The PI should get the scoop and publish it online while sober. Also x2, I work on the weekends, like most service industry folks, so that your ass can get pampered while you "get a life on a Saturday night." Sorry to burst your (white-collar?) bubble.
