I’m two hours ahead, so it’s cocktail hour here at YearlyKos in Chicago (as the man in the background of this photo clearly knows).
Foreground: Darcy Burner, who wasn’t drinking (yet) when I ran into her. Why is she here? First answer: “This is a group of people who are working very hard to change the way politics works in this country.”
Really? Isn’t the potential for future netroots fund-raising a big draw?
“Certainly my presence isn’t hurting in that regard,” Burner told me.

I really hate to say this, since it confirms that I'm a stereotypical, sexist, terrible person....
...but Darcy Burner is HOT. I'd tap that like a keg at a frat party.
I like Darcy, and gave her money last time, but her "changed way of politics" looks an awful lot like the old way of politics plus spam. She's started to send me emails recommending other candidates. But I DON'T WANT EMAILS. Not from her. But there's no way to opt out, and opting out is a fucking criminal spamlord requirement. Makes me kind of angry just thinking about it.
All these "netroots" people are aggressive spammers.

She's taking the Dow Constantine approach and sticking with a dark suit wherever she goes...
At least it looks good on her. Some of her male counterparts run with the same bad suit/jacket far too long.
