Shouldn't cunt be outlawed before bitch? Pick your battles people.

One of my best friends--female--and I frequently toss around "bitch" in its slave/subordinate sense, always in jest and usually in self-mockery.

When my girlfriend and I argue about which one of us is the "number 1 girlfriend" of our friends' 5-year old, I occasionally pop off with, "Bitch, you best keep your grubby paws off of my man!" followed by some assertion of my superior hotness. This amuses her greatly.

The N.Y. city council clearly doesn't appreciate the life-enriching qualities of the word.

Disclaimer: I am neither female nor black, and I am definitely not hot.

Wow, that's ridiculous. The word even shows up in the new Harry Potter book, for crying out loud!

I was surprised to see that BITCH magazine wasn't mentioned in the article as being potentially affected by the ban on the word bitch. How silly.

"It's the one thing they can't do. They can make you say anything - anything - but they can't make you believe it. They can't get inside you." Bitch.

The word is sexist... but why not place a heap of importance on the last real feminist issue: the pay gap.

That bitch in NY seems to have forgotten the 1st amendment. I don't like the n-word and find it fairly offensive, but I don't like the word "queer" either since in my mind it describes nothing but seems to get attached to everything.

For me, I'd love to see the word "tinkle" banned, along with the number 11. It's such a horrible number.

They better not ban "cunt". I would be rendered speechless...

They can try to ban any word they want but the constitution of the United States says I can say "bitch" "nigger" "cunt" "fart swallower" "Barbra Streisand" and any other word I want, all I want.

In your FACE, Councilwoman Darlene Mealy of Brooklyn!

Remember when New York had guts, had character, had peep shows. How have we moved to banning words in less than 20 years?

All I can say is:

Bitch, please...
