I hear there is a really good game on the corner of Who Gives a Shit Avenue and Basketball Sucks My Ass street.
Tolucan basketball games down in Georgetown.
What a pretensious bunch of drivel.
You are such an ass, Feit.
I was just noticing lately how the weird venom on Slog seemed to be on the decline lately. But good lord. What's up @ #1?
Not sure if this would be the best one in Seattle, but I should at least do a shout out for the pick up game I’ve been going to this summer.
BF Day Playfield in Fremont
It’s just a concrete square with two of the shakiest and unforgiving rims ever, but the crew of dudes that’s showed up this summer makes the games fun. There’s usually 10-20 guys there after work and people make sure everyone gets in a decent number of runs.
The skill level is varied from crappy (me) to some pretty good players. It’s a good mix of folks agewise; from twenty something’s to guys pushing into the 40’s.
Best of all, its never too serious.
Basket ball Diaries remixed dvd is in prenogosheAtion for my latest Voxlink upload.
SCCC soccer-field court has good games. When's tipoff Feit? You be powerfull pretense forward and I'll be bombs away guard.
Courts on Othello
@ Josh, much of the comments on slog sound like something off of Rush Limbaugh's website anymore.
I think I am just going to stop posting anything else. It really is arguing with the mentally retarded.
I really have no idea where these games would be. But I like that you asked this question.
Cato @8 - are you a NW native?
You used this odd colloquialism in your post I only hear from Seattle born and raised. You use the word "anymore" in an affirmative way, rather than negative. In my mind, "anymore" is what you say when the sentiment is negative or something has ceased to be a certain way. "we don't do that anymore." Your sentance above sounds strange to me, I would have used the word "nowadays".
Everytime I hear "anymore" used this way, it always stops me in my tracks. The only people I have heard say it are natives, like my friend and his mom, both of which are from Seattle.
Just curious....
@1
Aaaahahahaha!
@3
Huh?
@4
Meh.
@8
Boo.
The thing is, CtYY @8, is to enjoy the great posts and respond to those folks and ingnore the fools/trolls. That's life at a popular blog.
Mr Poe did not say ALL of the comments just a hell of a lot of them lately have a real right wing tone. Kinda like lunch with Tony Snow or worse.
And yeah, I am a NW Native (Seattle specifically) and there are 5 of us left in Seattle at last count.
@1- LMAO right now!
rubyred@10: I didn't know that construction was odd. I say it and I'm local, back to my grandparents. One more data point in favor of your hypothesis.
Cato - thank you for furthering my education in this linguistic anthropologic matter.
The isogloss must ring Seattle.
Fascinating!
And thank you Pox!
FYI--West 4th Street courts have gone downhill, waaaay downhill. Mostly for poseurs who've heard about them on TV. The good courts are up in the Bronx or in Brooklyn, you will get your ass HANDED to you there, boy.
I'm told that the best pickup games in Seattle are actually at the Redmond Athletic Club.
Oscar Robertson thanks you all.
And duh on me, the outdoor courts by the Cal Anderson Park ball fields are right outside my office window. Those do look like good games.
I fell in love (well lust) with a BB Player at Cal Anderson Park. *sigh* Tall, blue eyed, red hair.......time for a shower.
@18, the best pickup games I play in are at the Pro Club Bellevue. It's great because it's members and their guests, so you don't have to play with a lot of troublemakers.
