They have a great university too.
I used to teleconference with some of the scientists there once a month.
Oh no, not Emerald Downs. Take all the things you mentioned, then take out any amount of money or class. Presto! you got the ED.
If not Emerald Downs, then where?
I've been meaning to try betting on a horse race for a while now because it occurred to me that if I had somehow been born with an innate ability to pick winning horses in horse races, I'd never know about it because I'd never felt any compulsion to bet on a horse race.
What Italian restaurant did you go to? Oh, and to be picky here a little - it's UP to Saratoga Springs - not down to.
Thanks, fixed. I'll check on the restaurant. (It was crowded and downtown and not so great, if that's any help. But we did go to Jack's in Albany proper for the dinner after the wake and that was fucking fantastic.)
Screw Original Monique. If you're on the hunt for money and class I'd argue that any horse track is the wrong place to do it in 2007. If you're looking to bet on horses and hang out with people who are compelled to do the same, go to Emerald Downs. It's awesome. Make sure you catch the bugler.
Alternately, go to any of the big casinos during a big race anywhere in the country for otb fun and atmosphere.
ED is ok for racing - but its truly a small track that doesn't get a lot of money, nice horses, good jocks, or good stakes races (Unless you go for the Longacres mile day !).
I say head down to California - go to Del Mar, Hollywood Park, or Santa Anita...
Better yet - head off to Kentucky, have a Mint Julip, a bourbon ball, and enjoy the great horses, high wagers, and all the fun.
