Listening to NPR, there was a story about an Iraqi refugee, someone who worked for the CPA, who settled in Boise. This is in keeping with our refugee settlment practice, which apparently is to place refugees in the city least like their home. For further reference, see the thousands of Hmong we settled in Minneapolis.
Um. So what about all the Southeast Asians in the Deep (horribly humid and hot) South?
What about Canadian refugees?
i predict we're not going to let any iraqi refugees in - that would be like inviting them to fight us here.
buy hey, oceans no longer protect us, so let in iraqi hotties only. we could always use more hotties.
Wait, I thought we fought them over there so they wouldn't get into bar fights over here?
Now I am so confused ...
I've got a gf so I'm not in the market for hotties (not that they'd ever be in the market for me), but I contend maxsolomon has a point. Some of the hottiest hotties evar are arabs. Wonder if Iraq also has a hotness drain? Bring it on!

@2 Yeah, the Vietnamese in Galveston actually did make some sense. Oddly though, they had a much worse reception than the child marrying, polygamous Hmong in Minneapolis.
