Thanks for reminding us of that Bellevue Ave. I have always held that Clinton was an "okay-average" president. It is just compared to what we have have the past few decades Bill just "seems" to be so damn great.

And for those of you who get pissed off when a reality check is done on Bill Clinton remember that he signed the defence of marriage act and signed the communications bill in 1997 that allowed large corporations to control even more media interests.

It would be cool to see Hillary take on Bill about the Marc Rich pardon. If she did that I would drop my support of Obama (or in my dream world Gore) and get behind Hillary.

Clinton succeeded by being a Southern-fried Eisenhower.

Ike was so gay. When he wasn't buttfucking Taft in the ass, he was munchin' on Nixon's balls. Ugh!

With Laura Bush's recent statements in support of condoms to combat AIDS -- basically repudiating her husband's abstinence-only policies -- there is a recent precedent for the sort of thing that you suggest.

This is true.

The difference between Clinton's pardon of Mark Rich and Bush's pardon of Libby is that Mark Rich did not work in the Clinton White House.

How many pardons did Bush I do? and Reagan? Why is that never mentioned?

@8 Plus Clinton wasn't protecting his very own ass from specific criminal charges by pardoning Rich. By commuting instead of an official pardon, Libby can continue invoking the 5th when/if he has to testify about Bush and Cheney.

@9 All presidents end up pardoning rich assholes on the last day of their term. Bush II is just waiting until 1/20/09 to pardon the Enron guys.

Yeah, but Scooter Libby was a TRAITOR, and was covering up for other TRAITORS.

Lest we forget.

Impeach. Why aren't the Dems talking about that? Jesus, this guy is worse than Nixon, if that's possible and he's gonna get by with an Archibald Cox type of stunt?

This is why Presedent Ford should be considered one of the worst President's in history. Pardoning Nixon was the beginning of the end of accountability in government and that is Ford's lagacy. The counrty saw with blatant clarity that wealthy politicans have a code of 'honor' (shame) where they don't put their own in jail when they break the law.
