Not only is he a crackpot, he's fallen into that malady that affects a lot of long-serving public officials - namely, the I've-held-this-job-so-long-and-done-so-much-for -my-state-that-the-rules-no-longer-apply -to-me syndrome. Who keeps a job for 40+ years in this day and age?

How can voters enjoying lots of Washington pork be made to see that the original intent of serving in Congress was to go and serve for a while (like an army draft - because it is your duty) and then go the fuck home? Did the early planners of the Constitution ever conceive of people serving in Congress for life?

Voters vote for guys like this, then they bitch about Congress.
