Re: A federal warrant for Uncle Ted

Knowing Ted Stevens, he'll probably die in a shoot out with police if they try to nick him.

Re: Bush and Brown BFFs

It's the historic Changing of the Poodles!
Pathetic. Truly pathetic. The Brits should be ashamed of their new PM.

Oh Andrew! Get over it. What do you expect? Brown to go on an anti-Bush tirade at their press conferece?

Everybody knows that the outcome of Iraq will be an eventual withdraw as the country stabilizes to whatever extent is necessary for the logistics of a pull out to occur. That’s the policy of most reasonable leaders, both liberal and conservative. Even ‘W himself.

@ Andrew. Uh, yeah, Brown should have totally slapped Bush down at the news conference. You see Brown does this thing called "diplomacy" and "respecting people". I know it is something our leaders do not do but it is quite the rage in civilized nations.

Besides there are leaked reports that Britian is still high tailing it out of Iraq.

"Everybody knows that the outcome of Iraq will be an eventual withdraw as the country stabilizes to whatever extent is necessary for the logistics of a pull out to occur. That’s the policy of most reasonable leaders, both liberal and conservative. Even ‘W himself."

So, like Alice, do you try to believe three impossible things before breakfast?

Your entire statement is lie that you simply made up. Last I heard, the "plan" was to be in Iraq for 50+ years ala South Korea, or simply keep throwing people into the wood chipper until 2009 when Bush can dump the war onto the next President.

You're a liar.

Sen. Stevens is an argument for term limits, even though I think the voters should be in charge of limiting terms (and they usually don't). Obviously, Alaskan voters chose not to in this case.

Not only is he a crackpot, he's fallen into that malady that affects a lot of long-serving public officials - namely, the I've-held-this-job-so-long-and-done-so-much-for -my-state-that-the-rules-no-longer-apply -to-me syndrome. Who keeps a job for 40+ years in this day and age?

How can voters enjoying lots of Washington pork be made to see that the original intent of serving in Congress was to go and serve for a while (like an army draft - because it is your duty) and then go the fuck home? Did the early planners of the Constitution ever conceive of people serving in Congress for life?

Voters vote for guys like this, then they bitch about Congress.

raindrop @5: funny. It can also be said that the policy for most reasonable people is to open a door wide enough so they can leave a room. A wide open door however, isn't a sign of a reasonable personality traits nor is it a pre-requisite to exit a room; it’s just an exit which results in a lack of bruising and/or scathing.
