Scrawny Grey Whales would be a great name for another shitty local band here in Seattle.

Speaking of shitting your pants, Brad's news summaries are hilarious. And to the point, exactly.

Pity about the WSJ. The editorial board is insane but the actual reporting is good. Too bad under Murdoch the news page is going to match the Ed board.

Good thing they're going to use that shooting in Belltown to shove through the nightlife regs. It would have been wonderful had the police insisted that the club deal with the angry mob on the streets, rather than the cops having to trouble themselves with it. I'm sure that would have ended well for everybody.

*twinkle*

Step-grandmother. Granddaddy went and got himself a trophy wife.

The club's security did handle it.

There was no angry mob, or fight on the street.

Remember the original assertion that a fight started in the club and spilled out? Did you see the security footage?

Well, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me a second time--you can't get fooled again.

Our city government has about as much respect for us as our federal one does. This just shows how flawed this plan is. If they're already misstating and misusing the facts of this shooting to gain their ends, imagine how misused these regulations can be in the future.

Another toddler, this time in Spokane, almost died yesterday by being locked in a oven/car.

Is the United States Killing 10,000 Iraqis Every Month? Or Is It More?
Michael Schwartz, After Downing Street
War on Iraq: 300 Iraqis killed by Americans each day sounds like an impossible figure, but a close look at the reported numbers of violent deaths and rate of armed patrols makes it all too likely. www.alternet.org/waroniraq/

Well, heck, that would explain the truly bizarre ending to that movie. It's the weirdest thing. Everyone's chasing the astronaut monster, and he just disappears. Then they find the astronaut miles away, and he's fine. It's really, really bizarre.
