You're still voting for Lydon LaRouche?
I'm still voting for that's fucking crazy and oh my god so not funny.
Listen dude, I don't come down to your work and slap the hanging chad out of your mouth. You can't argue with LaRouche's environmental policies.
Hey, can I get at least one comment that isn't vetted and deleted by a stranger staffer?
Personally I'm a big fan of his Bering Strait bridge idea. Road trip to Moscow, anyone?
Of course he's joking about that. But on the subject of this ticket: Clinton is the least electable candidate the democrats are fielding, and guess what? Just like with Kerry, the DNC is gonna force her down the throats of primary voters by arguing -ironically- that she's the most electable. As the Daily Show might put it, that's their big plan for how to lose in '08.
Obama or Edwards on top is the only way to go. Even as veep, America's irrational & toxic hatred of Hillary could cause the dems to go down in flames.
If we're gonna win, it's gotta be Obama/whoever, preferably not Hil. I know I'm inclined to like Hillary just because other people hate her so much, but she has zero fucking charisma, and the fix was in against her since the '90s, when the GOP smeared the living shit out of the Clintons. Bill had his charm to bounce back with. Hillary has nothing.

You can't argue with cancer or your ex or George Bush or hunger or Tyrah or Kerlikowske or Dan Savage or 51%.
The Republican Party has no platform, but hatred of Hillary so I'm dubious. LaRouche is an anti-semite.
Hadn't read #2 when I composed my post. Maybe Jonah will vote LaRouche. Won't much matter because a dem will get all this state's electoral votes unless the candidate molests a toddler on national television November 1st. Let the crazies vote for whoever they like. I would've voted for Nader in 2000, and it wouldn't have made any difference at all.
-
That would be the conventional wisdom ticket.
I'd be cool with Obama/Clinton -- then I wouldn't have to choose! They have different but complimentary strengths... do they complete each other?
Course, neither of them would go for it. Who would get stuck with the number two spot? The one who raised less money? Would they flip a coin?
@10: Of course #2 will be whoever didn't win the primary. I think if anyone but Obama wins the primary, they'd be insane to not pick him for #2. He's just got the broad appeal thing sewn up. So it's a fairly safe bet if Hill gets it (I suspect she will), you'll have a ticket you can dig.

You can't argue with LaRouche's environmental policies.
Can't argue because you're too busy laughing at all the dumb-ass LaRouchies, right?
You people are insane. If you can't understand what LaRouche has to say, you're better off voting inside the box of your ineffective 2 party system. Dullary has yet to develop a comprehensive plan for dealing with the impending war against the robots.
Obama/Clinton is my political wet dream.
LaRouche is not running kids. https://ssl.tnr.com/p/docsub.mhtml?i=20070702&s=clarke070207
get your jokes right.
That's conspiratorial bullshit. I'm waiting for the Gore/Larouche ticket.
i still don't know what the big deal is about obama. someone please explain it to me. i don't see why he is different than anyone else. i mean he has a nice smile and seems like a nice guy. but what makes him any different than anyone else?
Obama/Moyers in 08!
The Dems can't run Obama/Clinton as a ticket because it would win.
Gore/Obama 08!
im voting for hugo chavez
I'm a Paultard myself!
Nobody else has a smile nearly as nice as Obama.
Obama just has the fewest detectable faults combined with the least embarrassing voting record combined with the most trustworthy-sounding voice. He could be Satan incarnate, a pederast, and a Republican plant, and I wouldn't have a clue, because he presents himself so well. And since appearances are all that counts in winning, and winning is all that counts in beginning to try to undo some of the atrocities of these Bush years, Obama is the man. That's what the appeal is. Personally, I agree with Jonah's facetious stance, at least on the criminal anti-Democracy that is the two party oligarchy. I don't trust Obama any more than I trust the other Dems. But I'm hoping they'll get this election anyhow. God knows they'll do everything in their power to blow it. Fuckin' nimrods.
-
It's going to be Gore/Obama. Just wait for Hillary to give up and Gore will sweep in.
Almost any dems ticket will win as long as it doesn't have either Obama or Hillary in it.
I'm for a Bill Richardson/Edwards ticket. Bill Richardson has more qualifications than the Obama/Clinton ticket put together. WTF has Obama ever actually done?
I'd love to see a black president and a woman president or even better: a black woman president. But if the last 8 years of hell hasn't convinced everyone that YOU DON'T VOTE FOR WHO YOU LIKE - YOU VOTE FOR THE BEST PERSON FOR THE JOB then this country is doomed.
It's the Dems race to lose.
Oh yeah - and the the two party system isn't so bad. It's how we don't get Hitler for president. The more parties you get, the less percentage of the popular vote you need to win an election.
This can be fixed, but not without losing the illusion of one-vote-per-person which people think they have and need.
Al Gore/Wes Clark.
gore solidifies the lefty base, pre-empting any challenge from the greens, and clark peels off enough disgruntled military rah-rahs from the fundigelical base of the GOP. "independents" (aka my idiot parents) will recognize the inherent logic.
this is the ticket that can't lose. just wait till Rocktober.
Hey Ryan. I'm not advocating voting for who I like. Otherwise, it would be Kucinich / Carol Mosely Braun. I'm talking about voting for who can win. The ticket you suggest isn't as big of a loser as a Hillary ticket, but it's still too likely to fail. Bush has proven to us again and again over these years that the winner truly does take all. The power of the executive is too dangerous to leave in the hands of Republicans, and that means we need a democratic candidate that can win the votes of swing jackoffs. That's Obama.
-
Christopher,
I def. agree that the current winner take all crap means winning is the only concern.
Remember - the other Bill was a little known but popular governor from a swing state with not too much money or hype early on.
Obama will get swift boated in two shakes! His name rhymes with Osama and the evil-right has already labeled him an African Muslim. I see any Obama ticket where he isn't a vice going down in flames post-primary.
Again though - I don't care WHO I can WHO WINS. And if we don't win? Challenge all the older rich white votes to hell if we have to.
(Think what would have happened if Dino&Co was able to redistrict... scary.)

Richardson: the other minority candidate.
