The Chocolate Box

posted by on July 6 at 11:33 AM

Yes, it makes me a traitor to my sex or humanity as a whole or whatever, but chocolate is not my favorite thing. It’s good and all, but it’s way down on the list of what I want to put in my mouth. For those who are not criminally insane in this particular manner, voilą: The Chocolate Box, a whole store made of chocolate (not really, but that’d be neat, wouldn’t it?) near the Pike Place Market, replete with high-end, often locally made cocoa-based indulgences. Per the inevitable suggestive accompanying verbiage: “See the store that leaves you begging for more” and “get your fix” of “the decadence within”!

Ok, I'll have to remember not to invite you there on your birthday.

Is the United States Killing 10,000 Iraqis Every Month? Or Is It More?
Michael Schwartz, After Downing Street
War on Iraq: 300 Iraqis killed by Americans each day sounds like an impossible figure, but a close look at the reported numbers of violent deaths and rate of armed patrols makes it all too likely. http://www.alternet.org/waroniraq/

And in front of The Chocolate Box is a scat pig.

It's one of the Seattle art pigs painted to look like it's fresh from the mud but it really just looks like it's covered in shit.

I'm also not a huge chocolate fan; I mean, I like the stuff, but I'd much rather save my calories for booze. I never got the quasi-addictive appeal of it for most females.
