Vitter only called hookers (what else do you do with hookers?). And besides, he's sorry and his wife and God have already forgiven him. Surely you can too.
Jerry Falwell's waiting with dripping anticipation for these assholes down there in Hell.
Jesus H., how is anyone still getting incensed about Republicans getting caught with their wieners illicitly wet? They're Republicans, it's what they do. B.F.D.
So Bush meets this Marine who lost both his legs in Iraq and says \"Good Man, We\'re Gonna Get Him Some New Legs...\" Bush is the guy Dan Savage supported to start a war in Iraq. The Marine is the guy who is paying the price for Bush\'s stupidity and incompetence.
Excerpts below from Dan Savage\'s \"Say yes to war\" piece Oct. 2002
\"While the American left is content to see an Iraqi dictator terrorizing the Iraqi people, the Bushies in D.C. are not. \"We do not intend to put American lives at risk to replace one dictator with another,\" Dick Cheney recently told reporters. For those of you who were too busy making papier-mâché puppets of George W. Bush last week to read the papers, you may have missed this page-one statement in last Friday\'s New York Times: \"The White House is developing a detailed plan, modeled on the postwar occupation of Japan, to install an American-led military government in Iraq if the United States topples Saddam Hussein.\"\"
\"In the meantime, invading and rebuilding Iraq will not only free the Iraqi people, it will also make the Saudis aware of the consequences they face if they continue to oppress their own people while exporting terrorism and terrorists. The War on Iraq will make it clear to our friends and enemies in the Middle East (and elsewhere) that we mean business: Free your people, reform your societies, liberalize, and democratize... or we\'re going to come over there, remove you from power, free your people, and reform your societies for ourselves\"
You're an unflushed toilet, I got.
Fnarf, that's one of the better insults I've seen.
What I'm wondering about is why the fuck the media doesn't seem to give a shit and the Democrats aren't saying anything either. What are they waiting for? For Republicans to eat babies?
This is exactly how you lose an election. Bush never should have been president. The Democrats lose elections because they're so afraid of losing the "swing vote" that they come across as spineless drones while the Republicans are attack dogs. It doesn't matter that they're full of shit; when people are constantly screaming it eventually gets in your head, especially for the large majority of Americans that pay attention to sound bites over reality.
What infuriates me the most is that it's possible to go after these assholes without stooping to their level yet no one seems to have any ball whatsoever.
Just because you are president of a group, does that mean you have to agree with EVERYTHING that group believes in? Cut him some slack, he's only human. As a human with supposed self-respect he never should have agreed to be part of, not to mention become president of a group whose beliefs were different than his own. That would make him a hypocrite. At least he is not a Senator.
Man, this shit just keeps coming. It's like a tidal wave of poetic justice is washing across the country.
He's 74 years old. Isn't it some sort of medical miracle that his junk is operational enough to successfully employ prostitutes? If this wasn't a raving hypocrite trying to put said junk in a sex worker, wouldn't we be giving this asshole a high five?
Well, he says he lost two personal checks and the alleged prostitute took them and forged them payable to herself. I mean, surely he wouldn't be dumb enough to pay a hooker with a check, would he? Surely not.
@11: Jerry Springer was.
In case Savage's last question was asked seriously...
Vitter hasn't been arrested because he stopped visiting her several years ago, and the statute of limitations have expired on his solicitations.
I really enjoy the title of this post. That is all.
This sort of thing won't win us any elections so there's no need in beating the horse dead. It pisses me off too but the people who should be pissed are the people who voted for the asshole and they aren't about to admit they are wrong. Let's face it, Americans DO NOT like to admit when they are wrong.
So I think it's enough that he's been caught and the next time he starts spewing his sanctimonious crap we can say... "uhm, weren't you the guy who fucked hookers while asking for Bill Clinton to resign because of a blowjob."
I read a Christian blog about Vitter that said basically that we're all human, to fall from grace is in our nature, the difference is that Vitter came forward, admitted he was wrong, and asked god for forgiveness. Never mind that he only came forward because he got caught, but still... that's the way they think.
I think we need to stop pointing fingers at everyone else and START leading by example. The "everyone else is doing it" argument just doesn't work anymore.
"He's 74 years old. Isn't it some sort of medical miracle that his junk is operational enough to successfully employ prostitutes?"
HAHAHA, loved it.
I love these kinds of remarks: "This sort of thing won't win us any elections..."
These remarks get made so many time by people and never do they offer anything that will help "us" win an election.
Whatever it might be that might magically make people not vote assholishly surely won't be impeded by stomping up and down on the family values myth that pees in the soup of 75% of the families in the country.
Try it - you'll like it.
what makes this difficult to use as an attack position is this: when one person is proven a hypocrite, it only invalidates that individual, and not the platform.
you cannot win over conservatives or fence-sitters by saying all conservatives are hypocrites. those who are actually sincere conservativs will not by swayed, and those who are hypocrites will not either.
you can only bring them down one at a time, and press the idea that people should be free to live as they see fit...
he's against alcohol & gambling. not whores.
so he's not a hypocrite. jeez, you lefties are so judgemental.

Cpl. Brandon Craig, a 25-year-old Fort Lewis soldier from Earleville, Md., died Thursday when an improvised explosive device struck his vehicle in Husayniyah, Iraq.
\"Say Yes To War\" Dan Savage
never but never trust a dirty lowlife baptist.
Come on, #20, that's not fair. Wasn't Dan preoccupied licking doorknobs in 2002? I mean, who has time to think about the consequences of war when there are so many Republican hypocrites to expose?
