That's a cool site, but like I mentioned last time, wish he dug into the history of the place. At least mention Squid Row or the Puss Puss! There's a long history of beloved businesses on that block.

zzzzzzzzzzzz

old buildings need to go - rodents, roaches, bad wiring and bad toilets - let progress roll

and you can get a blow job in the john of a newly minted men's room .... hint hint to Stranger staff ... all is not woe

every time I was tempted to get a burrito, I looked at the floor .... and yes the drinks were cheap, but the place is a fire trap

God, what a beautiful block of buildings. Such a pity that it's going to be torn down. I'm worried that they will build something ugly in its place. I can see why the Stranger staffers have been so up in arms about that dump . . .

What a waste, huh? A mostly one story block of worn out old buildings in the heart of the urban jungle where higher density and smart use of space should be rewarded.

Boo fuckin' hoo. Online memorial. You have got to be kidding me.

Jeez SB - this is their Raison Detra - cheap food and drink in a divey atmosphere and complaining about change just like Knute Berger. BTW Capitol Hill is a good place to build condos because of its location not because there are dive bars and fast food spots. And yes, most people with money to buy new condos probably don't want a bunch of degenerate drunks yelling at two in morning - go figure.

SB & whatever, where do you go for dinner and good times? TGI Fridays? That's what I thought. And as a matter of fact, they ARE building something ugly to replace these unique local businesses, that's why there's an online memorial.

I realize that progress is inevitable, but these condos that are popping up all over town are a tragedy. Smart use of space? Hardly. Allen and Nichols are ruining this city.

And after you guys move into your shoddy, over-priced condos, I'll be the degenerate drunk yelling at your window at two morning. Welcome to Capitol Hill.

Sorry, can't let this one go: RAISON DETRA?!?
how about Raisin Tetra? Or Rayban Destruction?
Please, it's the internet, it's there for a reason (reason? that sounds familiar) - to LOOK THINGS UP! raison d'etre = reason to be.
