I would be more impressed it it was a coyote. A coyote chasing me as I run along Greenlake at 4:30 in the morning. BLAH!!!

Jen, may I be your art intern? I specialize in not agreeing with anything, and I think that most of the art that you pump is dog salad. Call me!

I like those pieces. They are kind of ghostly and eerie. I like how they are unexpected and a bit jarring, too.

Is he the same person who does those WWWII-looking children?

Posted by Sylvie | July 24, 2007 1:21 PM

he does these pieces under the name No Touching Ground. probably for a reason.

Posted by ahem | July 24, 2007 1:29 PM

no, not the same artist that does the wwii kids.

I asked the same thing yesterday, and the ever-talented Donte Parks pointed me in the direction of the Dog Leaf Kids, done by Dog Leaf. Flickr pool here.

Both of these guys are doing things that make me love this town even more.

I wondered too if he did the kids. Who is responsible for those? They are kind of creepy, but sort of cool as well. I drive by the one under the Arboretum bridge every to and from work.

Did you just put a vandal's government name next to a picture of his work, right here in front of god and everybody?

Posted by I Am So Not Understanding Proceedure Anymore | July 24, 2007 2:05 PM

#8 -

totally agree. why would you put his real name up?! use his street name, for god's sake.

Posted by duh | July 24, 2007 2:11 PM

There was a coyote piece at the Marginal Way skatepark in SODO for a while.

Posted by Time Bomb | July 24, 2007 2:21 PM

Jen put his real name up because she is FUCKING CLUELESS!!!! God!

Posted by A-1sauce | July 24, 2007 4:23 PM

i'd be more impressed if he had the balls (no pun intended) to paste up gigantic penises or porn stars all over the city.

Posted by mary mary | July 24, 2007 4:43 PM

I have to agree it was stupid to put up the artist's real name. Other blogs have been posting about his art for months and even though his name has come up in the past, they try to keep it on the dl. I think after the Atlas fiasco the Stranger sloggers would've learned a thing or two. Maybe they want to put a stop to Seattle underground art.

It looks to me like Jen just got his name from the Dodge & Burn blog she links to in this post. If anyone's to blame for "outing" No Touching Ground, maybe it's those guys. Their post went up at 11:23am, Jen's posted hers at 12:54pm. Chronology!

am i missing something? how is this in anyway creative?

Posted by kevin | July 24, 2007 6:33 PM

hey, we grew up together. Way to go sir, I've seen these and dug them!

If the mountain lion jumps down and sprays on top of the tag on the roll-down door, I bet it doesn't do jack shit to the person that has to clean the graffitti off.

Posted by Lloyd Clydesdale | July 24, 2007 10:40 PM

I love these, and the kids too. They're just jarring enough, and rather beautiful.

Posted by It's Mark Mitchell | July 25, 2007 7:45 AM

Yes Jen got his name from the Dodge and Burn post. Yes they posted it at 11:23 am, in April to promote the art show he had at Zeitgeist coffee. I still don't think you should post his name here, when you are only talking about his street art. Why not just use the name he uses for his street art?

Posted by mthead | July 25, 2007 9:36 AM

mthead, i completely agree.

so much for keeping it on the dl.

Regarding "Outing" Lars as the artist NTG
I feel that when I receive a flyer and press release for an artshow with his God given name on it then all bets are off. There is no difference between his "Studio" work and what he does on the street so I do not think he is too worried about it. I work with alot of street artists and would never put any of them in any danger from the fuzz.

Posted by damion | July 25, 2007 10:34 AM

oh yes,,, I remember this type of art. When it was by SWOON.

Posted by i like swoon | July 25, 2007 11:36 AM

I liked swoon even more when she was called Robbie Conal

guess you can go round and round like this huh. pretty boring game.

Posted by i like Robbie better | July 25, 2007 12:32 PM

It's rad how honest art can produce such controversy and unrest in the minds of those who "aren't" doing much. NTG is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and it's great to see that most of the comments are positive. He deserves it!

Lars Bergquist "is" a "fake" name. His real name is Fonzee Jellyneck. For real!
