Can we leave now?

It's costing us $12,000,000,000.00 a day now. That's $20,000,000,000.00 a day borrowed from my son's future Social Security reserves and he's not working yet.

Last time I checked Iraqis weren't US citizens, didn't vote in the US, and didn't pay US taxes.

I vote we bring our troops home.

The new NIE says Al Qaeda is as strong as in 2001.
WHEN WE WITHDRAW, it will be a dicey thing, as getting 120,000+ trroops and all their qupiement OUT is not easy.
Then there are dangers in Iraq, and separately, IMHO, dangers of terrorism.

Does the entire let wing simly want to ignore discussion of these things? These topics are ignored in this site.

I agree with unpc about this. Pulling out the troops isn't an academic question, it would be an enormous venture and could have enormous consequences for the iraqis. The US might just have to commit and deal with the mess. And maybe get some leaders who aren't fucking idiots.

Vietnam was big fat mess when we left there too. A lot of people died in the aftermath. But staying there would never have brought resolution. We'd still be fighting viet cong 'terrorists' today.

And I agree with Will about the spurious spending of our tax dollars. Can we spend 12 billion/month on healthcare, poverty, and education and vow not to give up until victory is achieved? Please? With sugar on top?

Well said grumpypants and Will

To UnPC: What in heck will change with al Qaeda if we go or stay in Iraq.

They are sitting pretty in Pakistan.

They don't need anything else beside our complacent allies there to help them create mahem. They have their training camps all set up, already.

See. It's the lies of the right that break up the discussion. We want to discuss on reality and you want to discuss on Karl Rove's talking points.

Pull them out now.

Fact: our troops are trained to invade a country in DAYS.

Fact: our troops are TRAINED to LEAVE a country in HOURS.

Those who have not served in the military probably think it's more complicated than that, but we already have the needed NATO airlift and sealift within 72 hour reach of Iraq.

Time to go. NOW.

Unless you really like weakening America and piling on the DEBT.

oh and the NIE actually says - if you don't read the capsule version, REMF unPC - that, as we "libs" were telling you, it's PAKISTAN and AFGHANISTAN that are the PROBLEM.

Not to mention the continued 90+ percent funding and volunteers from one country: Saudi Arabia.

NOT Iraq.

Try READING.
